First Impressions

Now that we're all getting our Luxe's, what are some of your first impressions or things you would say to anyone considering buying one?

I've only had mine 24hrs, but so far the tracking seems accurate (heart rate, sleep, steps, etc). The hardware looks just as good, if not better than the promotional images--so in that regard I'm very happy. The main body is very slim in comparison to older models--I compared it to my Charge 3, and it's noticeably thinner. The one major thing I dislike so far is the small display size. The display uses less than half of the actual watch face, and because it's so small they can't fit very many details on the main clock face and you have to scroll down to see all your stats. Because it's so small, navigating the screen is a little more cumbersome than it has been with other models. But, I don't have a problem reading small print, and I can take that as a trade off for the sleekness of the new design--though, I wish they would have included a "direct to home" button on the side like my Charge 3 had. I also didn't realize it wouldn't have floor tracking. Floor tracking wasn't advertised, but I assumed since older trackers like the Charge 3 had it that it would have floor tracking as well. Truth be told, the floor tracking was never accurate for me, so I didn't use it, but if you're someone who did like that feature it is probably useful to know it's not available on the Luxe.

One last thing: Like a lot of other people on here I'm having connectivity issues. My Luxe struggles to sync, and I've had to re-pair it a few times. However, I don't know if this is an issue with the Luxe, as Fitbit has started posting notices that there is a user-wide issue with the app that is effecting syncing for everyone, and I'm hoping it's just an app issue that will be fixed in a few days. Update: Most of my syncing issues are resolved, and are now only showing up when I go to change the clock face--however, if I just ignore the notifications I'm still able to change the clock face without issue.

I haven't even made it 24 hours yet, and I like it so far, but I share the same complaint about the home button and the display. Also, my first night, it did not accurately record my sleep, I slept 7 hours or so, and it tracked 2 hours 29 mins. I re-synced it a few times, hoping the rest of the sleep would show up, but it has not. I've only had sync issues a few times, but currently my reminders to move are not working, so I'm going to put it on the charger to see if I can fix it that way.

I can't seem to figure out how to do multiple silent alarms, but I don't like the way to set the alarms. I also went from the Charge 3 to a Luxe and I'm wondering if I shouldn't have just gotten a Charge 4.

I wish I had noticed that floor tracking was not available before purchase, however I do like the other features and the fact that it came with an additional, longer band was excellent.

For setting multiple alarms, side swipe until you see the alarm option, and from there scroll down until you see a button that says "New Alarm". I think it allows for up to 8 different alarms. They seem to work alright, but the vibrations aren't quite as strong as they were on my Charge 3.

Second day using mine, went from inspire 2 to luxe. It's everything I loved in the inspire 2 while solving the problems I had with the inspire 2 at the same time.

I love that you can set alarms and timers in the watch itself rather than being forced to use the app. (The alarms on the inspire 2 you had to set on the app ahead of time, then on the watch you could select the ones preset from the app. If that makes sense.)

I also was frustrated with not having the side "return to home" buttons, but once I realized you can swipe (to the right) to go back a page, I have no issues.

I also hate how tiny the screen is compared to the actual watch screen on it, but like you, feel it's a worthy sacrifice for how slim the thing is.

It fits so much more smooth against the wrist, the inspire 2 had a piece jutting up at the bottom that I'm glad to see is improved on the luxe.

I don't use floor tracking so nothing to say there. Also no connectivity issues so far at least.

I love how there's the setting now to stop the screen from lighting up when you move your wrist- not sure if I just missed that setting somewhere with my inspire 2 or if it's new to the luxe, but I'm super happy about that. Move my hands too much and saves some battery life.

After sleeping with the luxe on all night, and then wearing it for a full day, it was at about 89% battery life when I got into bed that night which is pretty great. If that pattern continued I would get -more- than the specified 5-7 days, but I don't wanna count my chickens/ jinx it.  However I should mention that there are a lot of things that I do to preserve battery life, so it obviously will vary depending on the person/preferences.

I'll include the things that I do for anyone who is interested. Most of these are just how I prefer them, with the added bonus of preserving battery as much as possible: I do not use phone notifications (hate them), dimmed screen brightness, lowest vibration setting, I have the "daily reminders to move" set for a smaller increment of time 7am-5pm (limited to where they have the most impact for me), have only one alarm set (I've heard limiting alarms can help preserve battery, but I also only need the one so it works out), and the biggest one is probably making it so the screen doesn't light up when moving my wrist. Obviously not worth the battery saved if you like/need/prefer different settings, but maybe will help someone.

All in all really love it. It's everything I was hoping for so far.

My problem is I want to set multiple alarms and what keeps happening is it’s replacing an alarm when I do one. It constantly says seven more alarm so some reason it’s not saving more than one alarm. There’s no way to check for more than an alarm that I can locate. But thank you for trying to help!

I've had the Luxe for about 2 hours and am already pondering returning it.  Before I had an Inspire and I've had multiple Fitbit devices over the years.  I also wear an Apple Watch (which I like for non-Fitness reasons) so I really prefer a tracker and not a smartwatch from Fitbit as I only care about the Fitness aspects.

The good - The Luxe is very pretty. I don't love the band (I just took the default) but will likely replace with a third party band if I keep it.

You can smoothly swipe from one screen to the other.  I assume that it will be accurate in tracking steps and activity and heart rate but don't know yet.

The bad -  Only about half the screen is used.  That means that everything is tiny and you can't have much on one screen.  I understand why the screen is narrow but don't understand you it doesn't use more of the length of the screen.  Even so, I could deal with that if I could read more of it.  There are multiple clock faces I considered and tried but rejected because I could not read the stat I was tracking.

You can't have more than one fitness stat on the visible clock face.  I like to see both steps and heart rate all the time.  You can't have that.  You must tap to switch between stats.  The bizarre thing is that the time on most of the clock faces is HUGE and then you get this really tiny stat line.  For a tracker (not a smartwatch) this seems peculiar.  Even if I didn't have my Apple Watch, it would still be odd.  I use a tracker so I can, well, track fitness stats.  When I can't see them it is difficult.  They need some clock faces that allow more than one stat.  Ideally you could choose the stats you wanted to see.

The clock face only stays on about 2 seconds when you raise your wrist.  While I would prefer always on, I can live without it.  But, why not allow us to customize how long it stays on at least somewhat?  2 seconds is not enough.  I often can't read what I am looking at before it goes dark.

Look of customization of display options is a problem.  I am never ever going to use notifications.  I appreciate that we have the option to get them.  That's fine.  But, since I don't want them, let me remove it so I don't have to scroll through that.

On the stats screen (which I must scroll too) I would like to be able to change the order of stats shown to those that are more relevant to me.  Also the heart rate is not on that screen and I have to keep scrolling down past the hourly activity section to get to heart rate.  I would rather that was higher up.  I understand that not everyone has my priorities.  That is fine.  But, why not let us customize for our own priorities.

I love the size & style.  Love the color display (as opposed to the Charge). I am very disappointed in the functionality.  No quick way (button) to return to clock face.  No ability to count stairs/floors.  Navigation of screens is cumbersome when you have to swipe so many times to view a specific activity or return to clock face.  And last but not least, the face wastes a lot of real-estate.  Very small display area for the actual size of the watch face.  Loved my Versa but hated the size as I have small wrists.  I thought this would be a good replacement. I have to say I'm somewhat disappointed.
