When I open my app, hit the + button, and "start exercise" and then hit the go button - it does not track my location/distance. For example, I went for a hike, got to the end and went to hit "finish" but it said I had done .16 miles and there was no "average pace". I uninstalled/reinstalled the app. I rebooted my luxe fitbit. I turned off/turned on my location. What am I missing?!

So the fitbit app no longer works when tracking exercises? You should only use the device itself?

Hi, @Nesie2447 , I'm uncertain as to what you were expecting of your Luxe, the device itself does not have GPS but uses the GPS on your phone to create a map & plot your movements. Your phone needs to be on and within Bluetooth range of your device (about 10 metres or 30 feet) If you start your exercise via the auto-recognize feature GPS is not engaged but in your case using the exercise app on your Luxe it will engage. How does my Fitbit device calculate my daily activity? - Fitbit Help Center covers the question and this third-party article offers a view How to make your fitness tracker count steps more accurately - The Verge
I hope this helps.

I guess I’m just confused because in
the past, up until I asked this question, I would start the exercise on my phone and when finished it would tell me the distance, average pace, etc… but now the app on the phone just zeroes out (using cell phone while also wearing my Fitbit).
