7/13 Update: We’re continuing to roll out this firmware for the Luxe Firmware Update 194.61, and expect more customers are able to update their devices. This is a progressive rollout and all customers can expect to have it within a few weeks. We release updates in phases so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed. If you don't see the option to update, don't worry - you'll have it soon!

We’re excited to announce that a firmware update version 194.61 for Luxe will be available soon! Some of you might already have this update available. If you installed it, let us know what you think!

We release updates to customers in phases. If you don’t see it, check the Fitbit app in a few days, and you’ll see a message when you can install the update. We appreciate your patience while we get this update to all of our customers.

*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.

Have there been any updated timelines on when the firmware will be pushed to our devices? I still am waiting on it and really hoping to be able to add rowing directly to the exercise shortcut on my luxe. Also hoping the battery life improves with the update.

I'm still waiting on mine.

I'm still waiting too...it's almost a month, and I can't try out new clock face still. 😞

Update done 2 weeks ago! Since then I’ve had no sleep data! my luxe turns off for no apparent reason and the battery life is down to 3 days if I’m lucky! Also no gps!

I'd like to see the new clock faces as I'm hoping there's some nice ones in it I still don't have the update available but that's typical leaving us down under to last

Hi everyone, thank you so much for your replies.

As mentioned in the original post, this is a progressive rollout to all customers, not distributed based on region or location, and can reach anyone no matter where they reside. Please keep in mind that this is useful to address any inconvenience in a more efficient way.

I've seen some of you that already have the update having some battery draining issues, I suggest to take a look at this help article: Can I extend my Fitbit device's battery life?

My wife has the update option but after my charge 5 was bricked by the firmware update I told her to wait. Are you guys sure this won’t leave hers useless like it did mine? @EstuardoFitbit

I am having the exact same problem. Averaging 3 days at best for battery life since the update.

I am now lucky if I get one day out of the battery and that is with notifications Turned Off".  I have to keep my Luxe on DND so I can get one day out of it.

Overall, I am very disappointed that this update did not fix the bugs.  When I get near 10000 steps even with the notifications turned off, it shuts down.  This has been an ongoing issue since late April - Early May.

Fitbit, PLEASE test for bugs before rolling out updates.. My watch / tracker has now turned into a dust collector.

Unfortunately my luxe just stopped working and taking a charge24 hours ago .  I called customer support and thankfully I was still under warranty.  Not sure if it is related or not, but I figured I would mention in case anyone is having the same issue as I was.  CS immediately sent me a link to replace so something is up.  I purchased a new luxe on this website less than a year ago.  Still love my luxe and hoping it comes in soon as I am leaving for vacation and feel naked without my fitbit. 😉

Happy to have a useable FitBit again on my wrist. Bought a beautiful black Luxe today that runs on 151.16. New update 194.61 is available. Should I update? Am cautious in view of the disaster with the update for Charge 5. Appreciate your thoughts. What are your experiences with the new update?

PS I’m still waiting for a post-194.61 update for my Charge 5, which still works but isn’t useable because of rapid battery drain and frequent screen blackout.

I am going to let you make your own call 😶

I had the update and unfortunately, my Fitbit is still having issues.  I did another factory reset, and my battery drainage is terrible.  My watch just turned 2 years old this past week.  I did like the Luxe when it functioned properly, it was the right size for my wrist and I liked the slimline look.  I had to place it on DND, once I received a notification that I needed to walk, text message or a phone call, it was just vibrate and I would have to bring the tracker back to the charger and reboot it.  Once I reached 10000 steps, again, it would shut down.  After a reboot, it would drop my step count to the 992X. What is the point of having notifications turned on when it made the tracker malfunction? It's still doing the same thing after the update.  I personally believe that I may have a defective one, but I decided to purchase another brand. I decided that I was finished being frustrated on a firmware update that was no help to the performance of my tracker.

I did like the fact that the Fitbit brand is very user friendly, however, this Luxe I once used turned out to be more of headache.

Hi @CarolynCzech thanks! I acknowledge you for sharing your experiences with the Luxe and the update you installed. That helps me a lot to make a choice, so I appreciate you taking the time to reach out.

I will keep the version that’s on the Luxe now, and hold off on installing updates until FitBit comes clear on what the company is doing to help their users, including an update that actually improves the service after proper testing .

Wishing you well with enjoying your new brand!

P.S. I am looking around at other brands too. Lots of products available now.

This update makes sense. But, as I was trying to resolve the issue by resetting everything from Bluetooth to my Fitbit… I uninstalled the Fitbit thinking I could reinstall it to clear any glitches.
Now I cannot reinstall it. The app can find it, but not connect. Hopefully, this will correct itself soon.

8 weeks and still no update available what's taking so long I can see one of the new clock faces is what I'm after

Best Answer

Yeah I’m still waiting as well. Sounds like the update has a bunch of issues so I’m just hoping they fix the problems before it gets to my luxe.

I don’t think it was defective, as I am having same issues. I purchased mine in July 2021 and had very few issues. Last couple weeks it’s been a nightmare. After having to put it on charger to reboot, it crashes with next notification. Goes black and cannot wake up until putting on charger again. So it’s nothing more than a bracelet at this point. Hoping they realize the bugs and get it resolved asap.
