7/13 Update: We’re continuing to roll out this firmware for the Luxe Firmware Update 194.61, and expect more customers are able to update their devices. This is a progressive rollout and all customers can expect to have it within a few weeks. We release updates in phases so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed. If you don't see the option to update, don't worry - you'll have it soon!
We’re excited to announce that a firmware update version 194.61 for Luxe will be available soon! Some of you might already have this update available. If you installed it, let us know what you think!
We release updates to customers in phases. If you don’t see it, check the Fitbit app in a few days, and you’ll see a message when you can install the update. We appreciate your patience while we get this update to all of our customers.
*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.

does this allow for rowing machine and on the water workouts from the device or is it still buried in the app?

@CGE-GT I managed to add Elliptical (which I assume is the rowing machine that you are referring to) into the watch. I can now access it directly from the watch.

The battery seems to be draining faster after the update to the new firmware. Why is this so? Has anyone else updated to the latest firmware and experienced this as well?

The connected GPS seems to be more accurate though. Hope the battery life will improve after a few charge cycles.

Why have I not gotten this update even though it was released a couple weeks ago? My watch is misbehaving and I am hoping the update will help.

I chatted with a tech and they basically said “it’s coming” but no ETA on the roll out window.
Sounds like @TzeHong is having worse battery performance so the slow roll out may be a benefit to us waiting. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@CGE-GT yes the battery life has gone down by about 75%. Used to be able to squeeze 7 days out of it. Now it's down to 4 days. Usually firmware updates are meant to improve performance, not sure why it's the other way round for Fitbit. Hope they rectify this issue.

Yeah it definitely seems like the google acquisition has been a net negative for the user experience.

It is important to note that the update will not be available simultaneously to all users, as it is always released in a gradual manner. However, all users will eventually be able to view the firmware banner.
I've seen some of you have mentioned having trouble with the battery draining too fast. For battery draining too fast, please follow these troubleshooting steps. If the issues persist, please get in touch with the Customer Support team as soon as possible, so they can provide you with the next steps.

Can you confirm if there is ongoing improvement/optimization of the firmware?
I totally follow the ring testing approach, if there is continued development. If it’s just slowly rolling out the firmware to reduce load on your infrastructure - that would be disappointing.
