Luxe is tracking too many steps while driving

Why isn’t there a button we can push on the Luxe that tells it not to add any mileage and steps while driving?

and why can’t I return off the Luxe??

Hi there, @Teknos. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the inconvenience with your Luxe. I understand where your concern is coming from.

Please note that wrist Fitbit devices count steps depending on the movement of your arms. Fitbit has worked hard to make sure that our devices do not pick up false steps or activity recordings while driving. Unless you're driving in a car with a very stiff transmission or on bumpy roads, your device should not give you false readings. Also, if you place it in a surface with something vibrating or if you make hard hand movements. You can learn more about how your Fitbit device tracks steps by checking the article How accurate are Fitbit devices?

However, there are 2 ways you can prevent this from happening while you drive:

1. You can plug your tracker into the charging cable while you are driving -- the Fitbit will not count steps while it is charging.

2. You can log the driving manually by following the steps in this article

Regarding your last inquiry, would you mind providing me more details about what you meant by "return off the Luxe"? Meanwhile, I suggest taking a look at this help article What's Fitbit's return and warranty policy?

Hope that helps.

How do I log a driving activity? There is no such option.

I meant why can't I turn off the fitbit in general?

@Teknos In order to do so, please follow the steps below:

  1. Tap the Today tab.
  2. On the Exercise tile, tap the + icon > Log or Log Previous.
  3. Choose Driving as the exercise type. Make sure the exercise details overlap with the time period your device logged the unwanted steps or floors.
  4. Tap Add or Log it. Your steps, floors, and calories burned will decrease for the time period you specified.

Please note you can’t delete steps and floors; instead, logging a a non-step-based activity such as driving will help to override the steps or floors.

Regarding turning off your Luxe, I'm afraid this is not possible. We're constantly striving to improve Fitbit products and services, and we appreciate all of the input we receive from our customers. The best place to make your voice heard is the Feature Suggestion board on our community.

See you around.

I am baffled that you don't have a pause tracking option on the Luxe. Why do we have to go through all the trouble of logging driving when you could add a button to pause all activity.  Also, the driving log still ads zone minute so it's useless.

With all the features it already has, how hard is it to add a button to pause tracking?
