Luxe keeps adding steps

My Luxe will suddenly add about 2000 steps when I sync it with my app. It only does this the first time I sync it each day. For example, after my walk today, I was at 10,471 on my fitbit and on the app when I first synced it. I walked upstairs, left the app open, and it suddenly jumped to 12,942. This happens every day. Why does it do this and how do I fix it. I've had the Luxe only a few weeks. I removed the other fitbit (the charge 2, which was the only fitbit i never had issues with).

If you have linked your Fitbit account to a third party-app, the activities logged from their side can add steps to your Fitbit account. Manually logged activities can also add extra steps. You can delete any manually logged activity or any activity from a third-party app to remove those extra steps.

Whether the above is not your case, please restart your Tracker by following these steps.
