My FitBit Luxe (less than 6 months old) counted over 27,000 steps of "intense activity" between 1:45am-2am. It also says I was in light sleep during that time, and didn't log any exercise or strange heart rate spikes. I've tried restarting both my phone and my fitbit device but the weird step count data is still there.
What's going on?

Hi there, @tamarakiefer. Welcome on board. Thanks for the details provided in your post.
Please keep in mind that sometimes you may get get steps when waking up, but is due to Fitbit devices may register movements or restlessness as steps when you're wearing it while you sleep. The number of steps typically measured during these periods is minimal, and should not offset your overall fitness progress. Any steps taken to and from other rooms during the night will also be tracked.

Hi there, @KaraBlue42. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Luxe before reaching out. I understand where your concern is coming from.
I'm wondering if you're using another app connected to your Fitbit account that will add more steps? Mobiletrack maybe? Low-power step sensors inside your phone track your steps and send the data to the Fitbit app. We recommend using MobileTrack if you forget your Fitbit device at home.
Note that adding more than one Fitbit device to your account gives you the convenience of switching between devices while still seeing a holistic view of your daily activity on your dashboard.
Fitbit devices have a finely-tuned algorithm for step counting. The algorithm is designed to look for intensity and motion patterns that are most indicative of people walking and running. When working at a desk, cooking, or performing other activities with arm movements, a device on your wrist may add some steps. When you’re doing activities that involve arm movement—such as working or cooking—you often walk a few steps in-between stationary periods as well, so the device tries to give you credit for those steps. For most customers, the number of extra steps added by arm-based movement isn’t significant when compared to your overall stats. For more information, see How does my Fitbit device calculate my daily activity?
For additional information, see Does the wrist I wear my device on affect the accuracy? and What can I do if my step count seems inaccurate?
In order to negate the steps tracked while you were sleeping, see How do I add, edit, or delete Fitbit data and activities?

Hello Marre,
I do have the same problem, but not with that much steps counted.
i first thought that it was showing more steps than i should have made, but i confirmed it when i notice that when i wake up there is already around 100 steps counted.
i do not have another app on my phone apart from the Iphone standard app (Does it count?)
is there any other thing i could do?
thanks!

My Luxe recorded steps @3am while I was in bed asleep. My steps for the day were 11k instead of 7555. This happened previously under the same circumstances 3 days ago with 2363 steps. This is not from arm movements. I am very disappointed.
