Why do I have to share my location information?

Why does the location need to report that it can update the information? What does the manufacturer do with this information and what other information about the phone is sucked in at the same time?

Could it be that if you do not update the information (provide location information to the manufacturer) on a daily basis, there will be problems? The manufacturer wants personal information as often as possible.

Hi @Jere100  location has been a requirement for iOS and Android for quite some time. Read more about it here - click. As for personal information, I found this article - click. Not everyone syncs daily, but in order to keep the time current on your Luxe, you need to stay in touch with Fitbit via your app. I've used a Fitbit for more than eight years and haven't had any privacy or location issues.

That is certainly the case. But what does my location belong to the manufacturer? I see no reason to report my location to the manufacturer. But I admit I can't do anything about it.
If I had known this then I would not have bought the device. It would be good if the product package said that I have to provide my location information to the manufacturer on a daily basis in order to use the device.

I was told that the village can be turned off by the locator but did not want to say that then the device is completely useless. Really unfortunate underestimation and treatment of users.

I asked why Fitbit is forcing me to tell me where I am. (Information will be resold with health information). I was told that positioning can be turned off. At the same time, however, they do not say that after that I will no longer receive my own data. Quite brazen and underestimated by users.

Thanks for getting back to us and for sharing your location inquiry @Jere100

This is not requested by Fitbit but by phone's operating system. You can check help articles that @Odyssey13 shared with you.

Your location information will be used to give you more accurate information and won't be used for other purposes.

Keep on visiting the forums.
