I'm starting a 90 Day Weight Loss Challenge on January 1, 2016.
My goal is to lose 20 pounds. I previously lost 60 pounds from May 2011 through December 2012 and would like to trim down a bit more.
Anyone interested?
Track your starting weight on Day 1 and your ending weight on Day 90. This group will be here to encourage and support each other, while also holding each other accountable. Feel free to share your successes and challenges, along with any helpful tips. You can also ask questions.

Thanks for clarifying, @RubyH! I’m not a native English speaker and I’m used to yearly/monthly/weekly meaning once a year/month/week. I’m aware of the existence of high frequency training, but once an hour sounded a bit extreme to me

Thats okay @Dominique, I lhave Finn and Norwegian ancestry, I have been learning some Norwegian but cannot get my head or mouth around the Finn language. My father was a Norwegian emigrant and my mothers father emigrated from Isojoki, Finland in 1900. So I undersand the language barriers pretty well. The Aussie language is an aberration of the English language to start with and we tend to slip into our own slang very often. I should have been clearer in my statement. Glad that you asked. We are working our arms, shoulders and chests in training tomorrow which is good as most of my work is leg work, cycling, walking . and elliptical so I am looking forward to it. My doctor has imposed limits on me as to how far I am allowed to push myself, I am not allowed to work my heart over 125-130 beats per minute and I'm to stop immediately I have any pain anywhere, a bit cautious, but my heart is improving, the exercise is doing it good as is the LCHF diet, I will not go back to my old ways, this is a lifestyle I can live with.
Have a good day,
Ruby

Why 10,000 steps a day?
It turns out that the 10,000 steps a day recommendation originated in Japan back in the 1960s. Dr. Yoshiro Hatano and a team of Japanese researchers undertook studies, which showed the average person takes about 3,500 to 5,000 steps per day and that if people were to increase their daily steps to 10,000, they could burn up to 500 extra calories per day and possibly lose up to 44 pounds in a year.
It took over twenty years for the modern pedometer’s popularity (or devices like Fitbit and other fitness trackers) and Dr. Hatano’s research on 10,000 steps/day to impact North America. With obesity rates increasing steadily, it wasn’t until the 1990’s that other researchers and consumers began to take a second look at Dr. Hatanos’ 10,000-step research.

It has been a while since I've been here, and I've missed you all. Went to Hawaii and did great with my exercising and my food, amazing, and have a ton of fun. But, when I got home I was still on Hawaii time and could not go to bed or get up, not good at all. It has taken me a week to get back on track with my exercising, my food took a turn for the worst, but hopefully that will get back on track very soon. I joined a cross-fit gym, I still go to my regular gym also, but the cross-fit works on so many different areas of my body and I can really feel the difference after I work out. Sometimes feeling that difference is a very painful experience, I hurt in places I didn't know you could hurt in. Now, if I could turn off my sweet tooth (let's be honest, I have 28 sweet teeth and I use everyone of them) then I would be losing tons of weight to go along with all these inches, any suggestions? Any how, I'm happy to be back with this group and am looking forward to shedding 20+ pounds for this quarter. Thanks again Coach for keeping this going. Great job @RubyH, you still inspire me.

See this blog post for the take of the American Council on Exercise (ACE). And yes, it’s different for men and women, due to physiological differences.

@Summet16: are you talking about the 90-day weight loss challenge referenced in this (marathon) topic, or about Fitbit challenges created in the Fitbit mobile app?

CW Apr 30 60.8kg 134.1 lbs BMI 25.3 still a tad overweight but getting there, my body of late has been fighting me as I try to get rid of these last few pounds but with a paunch and a muffin top still to be shed I know I have a little futher to go and so I am pushing on, I will never have an hourglass figure my short stature and broad structure of my build as well as heavier bone structure are well defined and I accepted that years ago and know I will never have a waist as such as my ribs sit directly on top of my hips, lol, but I will persist in losing the spare tyres lol.

I know I'm late to join, but I'll catch up. 🙂
On:
Feb 1st - 185.0
March 4th - 166.21
New Challenge:
April 4th - 153.9
I started working out the beginning of February and was really motivated and did really well for the first two months. I'm down a total of 31.1 pounds from then. This month I kinda fizzled, I haven't gained, but I haven't lost any weight. I've joined the 4 week program at the gym again that got me started, I meet with a trainer a couple times of weeks to stay on track. I usually weigh on Mondays. My first goal is to get to 120 pounds. We'll see after that. If I lose more weight eating right and staying active, so be it. If I maintain and feel good, I'll be happy too. It also depends on how much muscle mass I build.

Since the beginning of February I've lost 30 pounds of bodyfat, 37 total pounds, and 8 inches off my waist. 🙂
