Any diabetics using the FB?

Wondering if there are any diabetics out there who are using the FB and working towards weight loss?  I'm insulin dependent and trying to lose weight but more importantly trying to regain my health and physical strength while balancing everything.  A challenge a day! Love to hear your stories....

Hello type I diabetics! Help me balance, it is so difficult... active insulin and carb counting and stress levels rising. It is all just taking a toll on me! Tell me how I can help. Maybe by competing with activities. I am using my fitnesspal.com and doing the YMCA control diabetes program. I am changing my lifestyle.

Keep up your best efforts. You're on the right track. Watch your sugar
intake and stay fit in order to achieve your goals. I'm a diabetic and
sometimes it's an uphill climb to control those numbered. Being diagnosed
as prediabetic is a wakeup call --- please do whatever you have to in
order to reverse it. Good luck and best wishes. GoldaT.

I can't call now but I guess your in Los Angeles Calif. I am in NYC. I have to get everything ready for tomorrow and my favorite show Downton Abbey is on tonight.

Oh, you are the sweetest thing.

I go to doctor's office  and ask people questions and they tell me Diabetes effect everything in the body.

I had a friend over from Florida.I thought she was trying to kill herself with sugar. Eating all the wrong things. I could not wait for her to leave with eating glazed donuts for breakfeast. I was afraid she would die in my house. Some people have a death wish but on my time.

I go to my YMCA Diabetes group on controling Diabetes tomorrow.

​I love glazed donuts but they are not part of my daily diet​. I also like
Xmas pudding but I ensure having Type 1 does not stop me living a normal
life​. It is all question of attitude and balance, and when I take high
doses of glucose is normally before I exercise at the gym or go jogging.

I learn something new about diabetes every week even thou I had had it for
42 years but it is no big issue. You have to learn the rules, and then live
by them if you are to lead a healthy life. I read one of the comments that
diabetes affects every part of your body - not so sure about that but can
I blame it on my baldness - I do not think so!

I have learnt to enjoy the stability of a daily routine, and I stick to it.
I compare diabetes to shaving - it is something I have to do each day but
it does not hurt.

With any challenge in life, it comes down to motivation and what do you
want to achieve. I do not view diabetes in a negative way but instead think
how fit I am, what a fantastic diet I eat (most of the time), and I will
not die of a stroke or heart attack due to my lifestyle and the meds I
take.

I tried calling you. Monday no answer. I don't like being on the phone for long conversations. I have a lot of catching up to do on my house chores. I made some Turkey bacon and Turkey for my prepared meals I made some tuna with pumkin mixed with some low cal dressing.. I try to have the healthy foods around to make my meals.

I am pre-diabetic on the border line A1c 6.2 and do not want to go higher. The first big thing they teach you is that if you are over 165 no more that 40 grams of fat a day. Under 165 30 grams. I am snowed in today you can call me 1-718-424-5567

Yes!!!! It's craziness, yo-yo or roller coaster ride 😕still doing it though almost everyday and I have signed up for my first 1/2 marathon in March! Wish me luck!

Yes, that's a big positive. Most people have to prepare for a marathon before they go. Doing short marathons until you build up to what you will be doing.Make sure you stretch your calves and hamstrings so you keep them well oiled.(in Shape) and recive no injuries. If you can try to use myfitnesspal.com to track.

Thanks for the support. I think I am doing good. Right now I have a back pain issue that I am working through. I'm still getting 10k steps a day, but hope to increase that slowly after the back gets right. Tracking what I eat has never been easy for me. I do try to watch my sugar intake.

I am diabetic and insulin dependent.  I have started walking twice a day with my dog.  I have a desk job so being active is tough.  So far lost a pound a half in three days.  yeay.   40 more to go.
