@Cele21  Just checked in and found your posts. Oh you may want to have a scarf around your neck when u go shopping. Most stores don't have wide aisles and aerosol micro drops can travel 10-13'.  Anyway I laughed at your post about the lists were the same. I'm still healthy and super glad that I am. My age group of 75+ is very likely to get a severe to critical case with a high fatality rate.   I'm just a little restless but walk about 3 miles of steps a day.  I am off work but getting paid.  I take my camera with telephoto lens or some days just my binoculars to watch and capture the lovely birds migrating back this spring. I miss going out with the knowledgeable leader from the Audabon group. I miss giving my son and his family hugs. But I'm very grateful for my health and this time off to stay well. I'm a good recluse as I do genealogy, dabble in photography, have a garden and I'm learning to set up distance learning to teach fitness for older adults on line.

Welcome to the new folks. We are alone together so we can meet our health goals knowing we support each other.  Stay safe and well.  I love my mask for grocery shopping. Here in Sonoma Co, CA it is required but I wore it for weeks before the law.

SW 151.4

CW 150.2 hey a little loss. I hit 149.6 last week for the first time in 6 months.

Stay strong.

Sooo glad that you came back and are doing better.  I get light headed especially bending over in the garden when it is warm and I'm dehydrated, I'm trying to remember to drink 2 big glasses of water in the morning.

I remember how you loved swimming at the Y.  Do you know some leg lifts to strengthen tummy muscles to support your back.

I know that you can lose that 100 lbs because you did it before.

Love your posts.

All the best,

@_Lilac_ Snow in May! Wow I was surprised to read that. How is your mom doing? I remember that you walked together.

@rjolley43  - Great job on the loss! You said you're not on call, what do you normally do?

@dancefoxtrot  - As of May 1st Illinois is required to have masks when out in public so my sister made some for myself, my hubby, our son and his girlfriend. A lot of people understood that to mean they have to wear them in their car too (which is incorrect - I checked). I get a kick out of seeing a single person driving in a closed car with a mask - who are they protecting? The steering wheel?

Glad you are all doing well, have a glorious day!

I woke up feeling sick, stuffy and congested, but it cleared up during the day. We have so many pets here that it might be all the hair and stuff. I can't wait until it's warm enough to open windows. We are expecting a snowstorm this weekend!!! How very strange! We've got garden beds being prepped and now we are getting snow.

I didn't do a lot today and when I did get active I forgot to put my fitbit on. It was irritating my wrist so I usually wear it in my sock around my ankle, but forgot to put it in. So, it missed me going to my neighbors and heaving bags of leaves over my fence, me cutting down bushes in the back yard, etc. Oh well. I know I did it. Got the pain to prove it. I had a great supper of pork loin, squash, carrot/rutabaga mash, and pickled chow chow. I will attempt to have a walk tomorrow before the snow hits.

Yikes do you cover your garden beds to protect from the snow? Out here in Calif. my garden doesn't get snow so I have no idea what happens to your little seedlings. I still need to jump on my planting next week. I have potatoes, kale oranges right now.

Even if you didn't wear your fitbit today you were active. Your dinner sounds yummy, too.

I'm having veggies and chicken tonight.

I wear my fitbit on my ankle sometimes to count all my steps, especially when shopping cart pushing

Stay strong,

@dancefoxtrot Oh, we can't plant til after the first week of June because of risk of frost. We are digging right now, preparing beds. My sister has started a few seeds sprouting in the house, but in no way can we plant until June. We have a VERY SHORT growing season here. Now, my rhubarb has come up and is growing so well and fast I'm shocked. I'm going to have a great supply for freezing. We are going to do potato towers to give the dogs as much room to run around as possible. We'll have three main vegetable beds each about 6'X3' and then another bed along the fence where I'll grow some squash or vine plants. My neighbor has all raised beds. Many people are expected to grow gardens this year with the fear of a food shortage. I hope it works well for everyone.

@_Lilac_Thank you.

Good morning,

I am trying to get back on track. I recharged my fitbit, and I have one of those scales that tells you your weight, fat, water etc....

I like this monthly challenge and I think joining a challenge with like goal-mined people is a start.

So, today was interesting. Had to run around town trying to find something to gift to my mother. Cut flowers are SOLD OUT all over the city. I opted for a gift card to a local fruit and veg store she likes. I didn't eat a lot today, still need to have something even though it's late. Not sleeping well but hopefully tonight I will. Haven't been on the scale since I started the challenge. I'll get on in the morning to see if there's any progress. My hands and feet are swollen though, so I know I'm retaining fluid. Time to drink a lot of water, but of course that'll keep me running to bathroom all night and leads to less sleep..haha...no winning.

Hello everyone! Glad to see new faces joining.

I had a really lazy weekend and my fast food addiction was in full swing last week even though I went for evening walks four days. The high sodium and sugar led to more water retention with swelling in my legs even though I remembered to take my meds. Hubby noticed and we had 'a serious talk' about me taking better care of myself. I tried not to get defensive (like I normally do) and actually listened so this week I have stopped soda (again) and am upping the water, I'm walking weather permitting and fast food will be no more than once a week, which was yesterday due to hubby's birthday.

Let's see what the week brings!

13 more days and 22 lbs to meet my goal.  I'm not sure how reasonable it is to attain but I'm not going to let that stop me try.  If I fall a little short I'm going to be ok...I'm looking at the long term trend...downward.  🙂

@rjolley43  Oh, you and me! We gotta work on this together. We are so similar in weight. Let's work on it! It isn't that often I find someone here with super pounds to lose, like me. I will be your biggest cheerleader and NEVER compete, I promise.

I'm struggling to convince myself to move each day. My food is decent but I just can't seem to lose until I get my butt in gear. These bones don't want to do the struggle, but I NEED to.

I just finished an online workout and I feel better. I promise myself not to just sit around the rest of the day! I cannot wait until the local YMCA opens again so I can get in the pool. I know I'll just quietly sob when I get in and can float out of gravity for a while.

@Cele21  If you can access youtube, there's a great video I use to walk at home if the weather isn't cooperating. I've mentioned it before, but I'll spread the love again. It's Leslie Sansone's 1 Mile Happy Walk. 15 min, gets your heart rate up, no complicated coordination needed, just a little bit of floor space. I am feeling better today after doing it.

I hope you enjoy.

@dancefoxtrot  We have beets sprouting in the house. Yesterday we bought two lilacs and a raspberry bush. Today my sister bought more raspberries, black berry bush, seed potatoes, strawberry plants and a berry that is like blueberries but elongated. We have some deck boxes to plant our salad greens. Garlic bulbs are stinking up my back porch. Peas, beans, radishes, tomatoes...omg. I'm too lazy to get a good garden going, but my sister moved in in December and she's gung ho!!

Now, she was just informed that she'll be going back to work Tuesday on limited hours, but she'll still be able to maintain the garden. I'll help as much as I can. At this weight I'm quite useless unless I can get some stamina going. I'm working on it.

@dancefoxtrot You asked about my mother. She's doing well. She hit 73yrs a few weeks ago and we couldn't visit or have a gathering, but we sat in a car in her driveway and talked through the window while she was about 10 feet away. For Mother's Day we met in a parking lot and did the same thing. She has had a rough winter in that she hasn't been active and gained weight. It upsets her a lot. My mom is wearing clothes that are way too big for her, which is a sign she's hiding herself.

My sister claims that she's personally gained the 'Covid 15' ...which is 15 lbs of weight gain from being home, because snacking is available at any time.

I guess everyone is struggling.
