Back again to a new challenge! Spring is springing into action. We have some robins returned, geese and chickadees. There's still a pile of snow around but that won't go away for a bit, where I am.

Yesterday, I got 9500 steps in my livingroom with marching and jogging. I had a good day of eating. So far today, I've walked three laps of the mall and I have a great lunch planned. I have to do some research about the shift in, and the calculation of, a new metabolism after a quick weight loss and plateau. There is a forum post about it...research incoming. I'm feeling really good today, better than I have in a while, probably due to the increase in exercise the last two days. I'm feeling geared up to break this plateau and cheer everyone on as they take on their own battles. I've got my pom poms out for YOU!

Back again for my second ever challenge

USW - 103kg (227pounds) (1st Jan 2018)

SW - 92.2kg (203.2pounds) - 1/4/18 (starting weight for the Challenge)

CW - 92.2kg (203.2pounds) - 1/4/18

PW -

GW – 89.5kg (197.3pounds)

UGW- 67kg (147pounds)

I have realised that my results may be starting to slow because I have reached the 10% of my body weight loss so may be in for a light few weeks as my body adjusts.

In fact, I am probably going to struggle for a loss for my first weigh in this week, since my weigh in I haven't done any exercise as I have been renovating my eldest daughters bedroom and have been painting for 4 days straight!!! Also being so busy has seen my eating habits slip (missing breakfast or lunch here and there and then takeaway for dinner as I am too tired to cook) and the scales are actually showing me my first gain in 5 weeks.

Hopefully tonight the last of the painting will be finished and I can get back to my normal schedule.

Am really excited for this challenge though. If I can shake this weight slow down and manage not to have too big a gain this week, and actually lose what I aim to, I will be under 90kgs (200pounds) for the first time in about 10 years!

@Bogdel I have no idea how to delete a post either, so we can occupy either one of these challenges, I suppose. I appreciate your efforts in starting the challenge after my request for someone to help out. I guess I got a second wind of motivation and started mine a few hours after asking if someone else wanted to. Oh well..I'll need to be more patient next time!!

I finished a bit of butt-flattening work so I'm going to get up and either go for a walk or do a workout in my livingroom. The pounds I found at the start of the challenge Sunday have now dropped off so I don't know what the heck they were...but I'm glad they're gone.

The sun and the very noisy birds are giving me hope that warmer weather will soon be here, however we are getting a few inches of snow overnight. I'm filling up the bird feeders though, since we've got flocks and flocks that have just returned from the south. The cat is outside on a harness and leash (yeah, it's city bylaw that there are no loose cats) and the dogs are having fun in the yard. Everyone is anxious for spring.

I wanted to share this gem I found today... Have a great one all!!! scale.jpg

Quick post. I've had  a few days of 9500+ steps and eating my greens. I didn't eat enough for two days, though,  so I was STARVING on the third day. I have to be really careful to watch the starvation mode and how it affects me.

Still nothing too abnormal found in my CT scan and ultrasound of my abdomen. More tests are being ordered. Soon they'll be throwing their hands up and saying nothing is wrong with me. I'd love to be able to transfer pain to a doctor for just a few minutes so they could 'get it'.

Other than that, I'm doing alright. I am determined to work on a painting tomorrow. I keep putting it off. All my creativity seems to be at a stop, but I have to get it going again. It's therapy.

I hope everyone is having a great week, getting in their activity, eating well, drinking lots of water and having FUN. Laugh everyday!

Well first weigh in and I was most surprised to actually have a loss, was so expecting a gain considering the week from Easter until Friday 6/4/18 I ate stuff I hadn't eaten all year (like potato crisps, easter eggs, hot cross buns) and did no exercise due to the painting in my daughters room and my extremely sore knee (I am hoping to get the results of my MRI soon)

Friday, I read online about exercise for people with bad knees and the one thing that stuck out the most to me was this quote "If the goal is making exercise a part of a healthy lifestyle, then continued participation is more important than intensity" so Friday afternoon I went for a walk, but really eased back on the intensity. It was hard as I am used to being able to walk at a higher rate now but I didn't want to hurt my knee more.

Friday also saw me going back to tracking my food and being accountable for what I put in my mouth.

Anyway, weigh in ..

I weigh in daily but only record the weight once a week, on Sundays.

I was down 2 lbs this week, which felt great.

My goal is between 1 and 2 lbs a week and to focus on moving more and eating healthy.

i too suffer from bad knees, I have found that wearing good supportive shoes helps a lot. Dr said I will need a knee replacement soon, but I want to hold off as long as I can. I figure the more weight I lose I can hold off on the surgery a bit longer. For now, low impact exercises and I am careful not to over do it!

@lynnmv Can I ask what exercises you are doing? I was only walking everyday when my pain started but a couple of week later I started a booty burn HIIT class once a week. I really enjoyed this class but as my pain increased I grew worried that if I kept going the squats and lunges etc would make things worse so stopped after 3 weeks. I am missing not doing it and I get the results of my MRI in 3 days but would like to know what is working for you.

Thanks

Had a wonderfully horrible weekend. Went the the large comicon in Chicago (C2E2) which was great fun and good family time, so got my steps in with no problem but ate junk food and drank pop (very little water) all weekend. Yesterday I got together with my siblings to go through my mom's house to see what it will take to get it on the market. It's been rented for several years and relatives were staying there before that. Only to find out that the renters cleaned the place out, skipped on the last month's rent and utility bills and, of course, left no forwarding info. Furniture, books, vintage games, tools - all gone. Windows broken, interior paint jobs sloppy and all over the wood trim, looks like there were more people staying there than were on the lease, etc. It's one of those times that you know it's your own fault for not taking care of stuff earlier, thinking you had time and then kicking yourself for not doing it and for trusting people you don't know.

So my weight is up, depression and headache are both raging and the weather is crappy (snow, no sun).

Hello, Everyone! I enjoyed reading your logs, and I was pleased by your progress. Here are my stats for this week:

USW - 183.5  - Jan. 2016

PW - 146.6    - March, 2019

SW - 145.6    - April 02, 2018

CW - 148      -  April 09, 2018

GW - 138

UGW- 138

In  our previous challenge, I've been trying to get the scale go back below 150 lbs, and head down to my ultimate goal, which, at the time, was 145. In March I did a 3-Day water fast, which helped me break the  1+ year plateau, and I went down from 153.5 lbs to 143.5 lbs. Once I got there, I decided to change my ultimate goal from 145 lbs to 138 lbs (we shall see!).  Of course, I knew that I was going to gain some of the weight back after the fast. Nonetheless, its time time to move down again. I didn't move much last week, but I did eat more than usual, with Easter, my b-day, and my husband's b-day. On my b-day, I also gave myself permission to have a piece of Tiramisu at Cheesecake Factory. All my other meals were healthy, though. Just a bit more than usual.

Since these are the last 10 lbs that I need to loose in order to reach my ideal weight, I don't expect to loose more than 1 lbs/week, but If I manage to do that consistently, I would be more than happy fpr this challenge.

I hope you have a great week, ad continue to improve your health through healthy eating and an active lifestyle.

amazing how motivation goes up and down so often!

Bethanysmum I walk and do the elliptical, I do the elliptical for 15 min, I am just starting back to exercising.

I started eating right in jan

Feb i did 5 min on ellipitical

march 10 min

Feb i am at 15min

if i am careful and stop when i feel my knee starting to hurt i am ok. I walk a lot in my job, so by the end of the day most days my knee hurts, which throws off my hip also, ugh. So I am pretty careful what i do and there are many things i dont do. There will come a time when i get the knee replacement done, it will be when i am tired of not being able to do what I want to do and when the pain is more than i am willing to put up with on a daily basis.

btw, I could have the same sign in name you have, I have a Bethany also!

I am so sorry for not keeping in touch this week. I've had ups and downs. One day I decided to walk alllll the way to the craft store. I stopped a bunch of places on the way. 7.2 km. A few of the days this week I walked with my mom at the mall. I did a workout in my livingroom today to make up for sitting around most of the time, working online.

I've had issues with sugar cravings this week. I think I ate too little for a few days then the cravings hit like a truck! I'm trying to drink at least a litre of water, as well as all my plain hot tea. Lots of fluids.

When walking with my mom the other day she admitted she's struggling, that she's gained about 10 lb. She's probably on the verge of panic. I'm finding it difficult to find that fine line between eating too little and eating an amount that would allow me to break my plateau/maintenance. Ugh. I feel like I'm spinning my tires.

Going walking in the morning. I'll do a weigh in too. Not sure if I should look forward to it or not!

I hope everyone had a great week and achieved some success, whether it was scale, non-scale, activity, or just having fun.
