If you are looking to lose weight, get healthy, and feel good, there is ONE way to do it and be successful and win this journey and that is your mindset. You absolutely have to wake up each day and say to yourself, "It's going to be a good day!" Something positive to start your day. If you are a NO Nancy or a Negative Ned, you face a bump road. Being positive clears your mind and simply puts you in a mindset that you can conquer the world. It turns you in to a inspirational and motivational person. You will be so excited with your Fitbit and look forward to your daily workout and feel rejuvinated.
The brain is the thrid largest organ in the body. You can train your brain to positive thinking and no negativity or reacting negatively simply by your choice, (mind-set). If you want to meet your goals badly enough you will retrain your brain!
I speak from experience. I have always been an upbeat and positive person. BUT, I would react negatively to peoples' comments because I was sensitive and took things personally. I learned the hard knox way, trial and errror. I took the advice above. Instead of reacting to someone, I would listen, be quiet, think positive, and maybe not respond immediately. I learned to not be defensive but realize most of the time people meant well. There are always going to be a few thorns in your side you have to let roll off your back. It takes practice!
Over 16 years I lost a total of 215 pounds and I have kept it off. For me, the success started and continues with prayer, a positive attitude, a good mindset, consistency, and a winning attitude. Oh, and be kind to others! If you do the above which may seem simple, it is not for some people. I believe in people and that if they follow this post anybody can succeed in losing weight, getting healthy, and anything in life.
I wish you the best in whatever you are out to do. Set the world on fire and help others as you do it!

Love this Barbara. I agree 10000%, my mindset is the biggest battle in weight loss. The food and excercise became easy with time, but keeping myself happy and positive is the biggest struggle.
I hope others will benefit from your success and stay positive as well 🙂
Congrats to you!

You are so right Babbara. Your mindset determines whether you succeed or fail at anything really. To lose weight, or to attain any goal, one must work at it, believe in yourself, and do the things that need to be done to accomplish your goal. So many people get a fitbit, and like magic expect that to lose weight. Some do, but without changing your lifestyle, eating habits, exercise levels, and sticking to it, a lot of people fail. "It's too hard." "I worked out for 4 weeks, and I didn't lose any weight." "I tried the XXXX diet and gained weight" I myself was very discouraged when I got off my blood pressure med and my weight went up 5 lbs, and then it didn't change for a couple of weeks. I couldn't take the positive "I'm Off my blood pressure med after 4 months!" All I could see is "why has my weight gone up, and I can't lose anymore." But I kept at it, and once my body normalized from being off the med, the weight started dropping again. I'm down 32 lbs as of today. 65 to go.
Going down a shirt size, and this morning I discovered that jeans I could not wear last month, now fit comfortably now. I'm officially down a size!
It's little things like that just remind me that stay motivated. Stay positive. Keep at it. And even I don't get to my goal, I know I'm so much better off physically than I was when I started. And that is the real goal isn't it??? Being healthy.
I find myself encouranging others around me. Sharing my experience. Wanting to get my coworkers motivated. My neighbor across the street retired a year to two ago. I just noticed that he's gained a lot of weight. I was driving to work this morning, and I was wondering if I should get him a fitbit...
It was at that point I realized just how far I've come in just 5 months...

I am so proud of your progress and your reality it just doesn't fall off over night. Losing weight slowly gives you a better chance of keeping it off. I know it has for me over 16 years.
I truly appreciate your posts. They are inspirational, educational, and motivational. Your visualization of your life and how you are doing it and explaining it step by step is very helpful.

Thank you for your kind response! You're right all of it can be learned but maintaining momenteum and a positive attitude and an excellent mindset can be a struggle. It is a choice. I struggled but one day I made a big decision that if I didn't do it myself that I wouldn't succesfully meet my goals and or have a true life change.
You have an awesome attitude! You have a winning attitude and you are on the successful path for your life. You may get a hiccup but even in the middle of the day your mind can change the coarse of the day and even restart a bad day. I have to restart my day with a good attitude adjustment and by the end of the day I feel so accomplished!
I'm proud of you and feel compelled to say you will take this to the end of your journey. You cannot be unhappy with a positive winning attitude!
Barbara 🙂
