Last week my schedule was crazy - I usually work 35 hours and I worked 50+. I usually do hot yoga six days a week and I made it 2x w/one 15 miles bike ride. My eating was ok - I bypassed all sugary stuff on the menu (yay!) and I missed my weekly weigh-in.
Since yesterday my schedule is back to normal. Yesterday it was really hot here - 85 so I skipped evening yoga then this morning when my alarm went off at 5am I turned it off and went back to sleep. I have a 15+ mile bike planned for this evening.
I've lost a total of 55 pounds since I started my journey in January 2015 - because I've had success in the past w/losing weight but have always failed and gained it back, I am feeling like I'm slipping backwards.

Congratulations on your continued weightloss and health achievements @GinaBee!
Having a crazy week every now and then is good to help us be reminded to mantain consistency and make sure we are not leaving our journey behind. Even if you didn't do all your hot yoga classes, you still went!

Hi Gina,
When i feel like I am slipping, I do as much as I can on a Monday and that seems to continue through out the week for me and motivate me. I never skip the gym on Monday because that sets the tone for the rest of the week. I also prepare a lot of my meals on Sunday/Monday so that I have no excuses during the week.
Maybe putting foods into single serving baggies at the start of the week and making sure to get in your Monday morning workout will help carry through for you too 🙂

There is a concept in business that is "sunk costs."
Per Wikipedia:
"In economics and business decision-making, a sunk cost is a cost that has already been incurred and cannot be recovered. Sunk costs are sometimes contrasted with prospective costs, which are future costs that may be incurred or changed if an action is taken."
Think of your diet and exercise in terms of sunk costs and prospective costs. In business, you don't take sunk costs into consideration when making a decision. They're already done and there's nothing you can do about them except move on. What you do consider when making decisions is prospective costs - what impact future decisions will have on making things better or worse.
