has anyone tried bee pollen? i don't mean those pills that are marketed as diet pills that say they contain bee pollen, i meant the real stuff, not pill form.
i'd be interested in hearing from anyone who has.

Hi Tinkerone,
I keep bees and have tried the pollen which is quite bland and the Propolis which is very bitter, but best of all is the honey. Much superior to any shop bought variety which has had all the goodies filtered out of it.
Although Honey has more calories than sugar it's twice as sweat so you only need 1/2 as much. It helped me loose weight.

Hi,
Did the bee pollen really help with your weight loss or was it conincidental? I ask because I had tried it and didn't find the rush everyone buzzed about. 🙂 I thought maybe I didn't use enough of the product or long enough. I also purchased it from a local place. My son really bought it in hopes it would help with his allergies. As far as his allergies went I don't think it was enough of a difference to warrant the drive to the place or the clost.

i purchased my bee pollen on monday, only used a quarter teaspoon tuesday but on wednesday, thrusday, friday and today went wtih the suggested tablespoon. i have to say i don't really feel any different BUT my cravings are gone and my appitite is very suppresed. its not something i notice untill i think about it, if you know what i mean.
right now i am down two pounds which, while it doesn't sound alot, is great for this time of the year. i'm xmas baking a ton and this has historically been my down fall. i must try it all right? no urge at all!!!
so, is it working? i think so but time will tell as i continue to use it. ask me again in a month.

Hi Rdytolose,
No the pollen didn't produce any measurable weight loss for me.
The honey did as I reduced my calorie intake by half.
As to the alergies, local honey sertainly helped with my HeyFever. It has to be local (within 50miles) and not shop bought (they filter all the pollen out). That way it will contain your local pollen in small enough quantities for the body to get used to it.

Thanks for the responses...
I still have a small bag of the bee pollen somewhere in my spice cabinet. I really haven't found anything that worked as good as cutting calories, following a lower carb diet and exercise.
My son said it helped but only somewhat. I think not all of his allergies are outside. Which is why it only helped a bit.

just as a side note, you should keep bee pollen refrigerated. it loses its nutrient value when warm for extended periods of time. if you have had it in the cupboard for a while i would probably just toss it.
