New thread which is open to everybody including the people in this group:
Idea is to confess dietary sins; maybe it will be a deterrent?
I'll start...
Watching Raptors get demolished last night by Lebron and company..had crackers, peanut butter, jam, and milk...easily over 1000 cals. Trying to walk it off today. Go Blue Jays....

Uhg, binge eating....I try to stay away from "trigger foods". You wouldn't think that Fat Free Cottage Cheese would be a trigger food, but when you eat almost a whole 24oz container like it's ice cream that's not good. 500 calories. That was supposed to be part of my breakfast for several days....

Cookies and milk late last night (again with the cookies and milk!!!). Once a week is once a week too often...sigh.
I may have to tell my wife to hide them; we keep cookies around for the (fit and active) kids. Arghhh.

Until I saw the kids comment I was going to add my trick to having cookies occasionally but not going off the deep end... frozen cookie balls. I read it as a tip to doing a lot of 'ahead' work as usually at Christmas I bake for the plant crew. We have a big plant, which last year ended up being about 1800 cookies and/or fudge pieces.
However, you can mix up the dough, roll them into balls, and freeze them. I then vac seal them in 18s (the size my cookie sheet takes). You just bake them from frozen. So, when I went back to counting calories I put some ginger snap dough into the freezer. 2 cookies - 36g of dough = 150 calories. At the end of the day when I've got the oven on for dinner I throw a few in and bake them up fresh. Feels more indulgent, also, I admit if I make dozens and put them in a tin I'll pick away at them.

Five Hershey's Miniatures. But in my defense, they were dark chocolate with almonds. That's almost medicinal!

Ate an ice cream sandwich last night as comfort for knowing that I'm going to be away from home for 4 days. I'm dogsitting at my mother-in-law's house. Can't resist the idea of knowing there is ice cream in the fridge.

Pecans last night. I know, an odd thing. Not roasted and salted, these had been bought for baking. After a flood in the basement most of the stuff is in boxes, so it was one of the first things I found the day before. I was 600 calories under for the day and after having lots of water decided it really was hunger. 1 oz turned into 3 oz. Actually hit my calories, but I usually try and keep it under by a couple of hundred calories to allow for a little error in the fitbit tracking and/or my calorie counting.

A_Lurker - I've done this, make cookie dough, freeze it cookie size and cook one or two at a time. Otherwise I will eat them all. I have my own cookie recipe as I am allergic to all grains. I grind almonds, use organic sugar, an egg and a pinch of salt. The nuts make them pretty high calorie, so I can't eat many at a time.
Even if you have grandkids visiting, this idea still works. Make a few cookies with them, send home with them what they don't eat, or make a couple when you know they are coming over.
I had a really bad week last week. Lots of things going on, a very dear aunt was diagnosed with cancer a week ago Sunday and passed away 6 days later. With all the hospital visits and visiting family, I fell off the food wagon big time. I weighed myself Friday, and I had gained 6 pounds, I ate very strictly Saturday and Sunday and lost it all by Monday. I bloat when I eat allergy foods. I'm even down a pound today. 🙂 I am officially down 40 pounds now.
I have been portioning my food in advance. I have a couple snack foods, I have put them in serving size bags in advance, and I know my entire day of food in the morning. If I don't plan, I will eat wrong or binge. Once I start eating the wrong foods, I can't stop. Once a week is too much at 1st. Get yourself under control, develop a routine and plan your once a week treat. Make it a small treat. End of day is good, then brush your teeth and rinse. That generally stops me from anything but water.
