Calorie Targets

ANSWERED

I have just started using the Fitbit food diary after a period of using MFP. Despite counting calories with MFP, I struggled to see any real difference in the scales.

When using Fitbit to record calories, my intake is always below target. I feel the calories they expect me to eat to stay in target are pretty high.

I am not sure if I think the calories are too high as I am used to my diet being pretty poor (skipping meals, eating at wrong times).

For people who have effectively lost weight, do you follow what Fitbit say about calories or do you put your own calorie target?

hey there @Loseweightby40  I think it is less about the calories and more about the quality of your eating. if you are skipping meals and then maybe overcompensating at the next meal, I don't think you truly know your metabolism and the formula that works for you between calories in and out. What works for one person doesn't always work the same for someone else. I suggest you make a commitment to your body and get high nutrition value low calorie food. measure and log everything to ensure it is accurate and adjust as needed based on what the scales are showing. drink plenty of fluids to get things moving in the right direction.. do good things for yourself.

Thank you. I think I am getting so wrapped up in the calories I am losing sight of the bigger picture 😞
