I have been UNDER a few to a couple hundred calories all week. Tonight I had unexpected guests and blew it (sensibly) with some food and wine. I went over by about 500 calories. Will this destroy my week? Why do I feel guilty? I have been so good! I had a great time and have no regrets, but will what I didn't eat the past few days even it out? I walked 7 miles yesterday and today made barely 3000 steps. I have done 90,300 stepd in the past 7 days. Ugh...do you ever do this?

Some people look at a weekly total instead of a daily one. It allows them to be less strict one day and not be a disaster. There is not one specific way that works for everyone. My only caution would be eating out and counting calories - it can be way off. Take a wine glass at home and pour 4 oz of water in it. Take a good look, empty it out, then try and pour 4oz. The good news is that in a bar they aren't likely going to over-pour by a huge amount. Although I usually drink either straight up scotch or bourbon on the rocks. I'm pretty sure I don't get the same amount each time.
Again, I'd suggest to not sweat the small stuff. Track everything, see how you progress over a couple of weeks and adjust. If I remember correctly you don't have a large amount of weight to lose. A deficit of 250 or 500 calories a day may be less forgiving with guessing.
ETA: Just saw that you had guests in, so you're probably close on your calorie counts. However, still get used to how many oz of wine is in your glass when you pour.

I am sure I was under "guestimating" my wine, but I like to stick to a 750 deficit since I feel its more productive on the scale. I am not weighing myself for a few days.....and I am going to be super active today and stay on track. No regrets and no hangover.
