Did you mean:

Chocolate

I have a serious addiction to dark chocolate. Nothing fancy like choclate cake or anything like that, just plain dark choclate.

What are your vices?

What have you done to replace/modify them?

I have yet to figure out what to replace (or an easy way to modify) dark chocolate. Any suggestions?

Take a piece of chocolat, look at how it looks.. allow yourself to have some, but eat slower, noticing the taste, take less than normally. Try eating half the piece, leaving the other half for another time so you are able to enjoy a second time when desired.

Leave the rest in a difficult to reach place (maybe where you'd have to do a bit of efford to get it like climbing a chair and even having to move the chair a certain distance to be able to reach it. Place the chair back to it's original place.

In the morning restock the place where you lay the piece of chocolat allowed for the day.

Allow yourself to have something when craving for but in moderation, forbidding a certain food leads to eventually craving so much for, that ending up eating plenty of it at the first opportunity.

Try incorporating natural foods and proteins (fruits such as banana's, apples.. Protein such as Yoghurt, Eggs, Cheese, chicken, fish.. eating 50% vegetables at dinner). These make you feel fuller for longer and when allowing to eat only the chocolat after dinner, you feel so satisfied that you are happy with one piece and not wanting to have more of it.

Even plan in to have some chocolat a day in the food plan when using a food plan. No foods are good or bad, french fries, pizza, cake, chocolat.. and more is ok to eat but try eating first the natural foods filled with nutritients so automaticly eating less from the foods like pizza.. which aren't nutritient rich, saving unneeded calories.

When eating the 'bad foods' first/nutritient lacking food, the body lacks nutritients even when having eaten a whole pizza.. due cravings it's going to ask for more food to get all nutritients it needs, eating more than necessary in the long run.

Prepackage food which contain ingredients not possible to read out, have some with care, such as the 'bad foods', go for the nutritient rich foods first (fruits, lean meat, vegetables/protein (beware when using for example white sauce for added calories, try eating vegetables cooked only or have a little bit of sauce).

The body will be craving for the nutritient filled foods more and more, it can be craving for some chocolat or a certain cookie.. from time to time, so allow yourself to have some to prevent overeating from it.

No foods are forbidden. Smiley Wink

When not feeling hungry try stop eating more, even when having x hundred calories left to eat. Total calories are a guidance, when our bodies have all nutritients ît needs, it can be perfectly happy with less calories than the 'plan' says.

why would you want to replace dark chocolate?  in moderation, it's good for you (physically and mentally).  anything below 80% tastes incredibly sweet to me now.  typically, i go for 90% and above.  i've also had some 100%, but that's the really good stuff and I can't afford to splurge on that at the moment.

I love extra dark chocolate and usually eat a good size piece a day with a cup of coffee....I figure the coffee is way worse for me than the chocolate...lol
