My go to prior to this journey was to eat through my stress - it didn't remove the stress but merely distracted me from it.
I am going to temporarily remove myself from the stress, walk about and then come back to it. I have to accept that I can change what's causing the stress, it will still be present AFTER the walk about but for ten minutes I won't have to hear it.
How do you handle stressful situations that you are unable to change or retreat from?

So, yes, get out for a walk. Nothing too fast, as your pace of thought seems to be linked to your walking speed. Find somewhere nice and go for a stroll.

Thanks for all the suggestions!! Yesterday I had forgotten both my phone and tablet at home so I couldn't listen to anything - which is usually what I do.
I'm a big fan of Pandora and Amazon Prime music.
I did get out and go for a stroll, too.
