Does fitbit measure resistance exercise?

ANSWERED

I work out 2 or 3 times a week for 30 minutes in the gym on weight machines. Is that logged on my fitbit and how to I know if it does?

Fitbit only really monitors walking, or climbing stairs.

To monitor your gym workout you will have to guestimate the number of calories burned and input this manually (via the website is easiest).

For cardio/gym I wear a heart rate monitor (a Wahoo blue) linked to my phone.  The app I use (digifit) is partnered with fitbit so it automatically updates calories burned, etc to my fitbit dashboard.

This capability really makes fitbit a lot more useful, since my main exercise is not walking, but indoor cycling and weights.

Thank you. I'm guessing a heartrate/calorie monitor might be helpful here.
