Excercise and heart failure.

I am having difficulty walking the recommended 10000 steps a day due to heart failure and other co-morbidities.  I am wanting to know others that are trying to improve their heart health and using fitbit to achieve this.

@southerrnkiwi hey there.. I think doing what you can do is better than doing nothing at all Whether you do 5K or 10K, you are moving and already improving your heart health. I would encourage you to work with your cardiologist to figure out what is right for you based on your current health and goal health. Happy stepping!

This is going to be a hard suggestion to swallow (pun intended). I suggest reading this book:

 
Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease: The Revolutionary, Scientifically Proven, Nutrition-Based Cure by [Esselstyn Jr. M.D., Caldwell B.]
 
It is the only way of eating that has been scientifically proven to prevent, arrest, or reverse heart disease. Since you already have diagnosed heart disease, you should follow it quite strictly. Coincidentally, it will help your other degenerative (diseases of old age) conditions.
 
Before long, you will likely feel so much better you will be able to increase your steps without an additional perception of effort.
