Nearly five months ago, on September 18th last year, I vowed to lose five and half stones (77 lbs). I didn't know how long it would take. Now, just a whisker under five months, I have lost 5 stone 4 pounds. I have just 3 pounds to go, which I should do in under a week. Happy days!
To do this, I have given up alcohol, controlled my calorie intake and gone to the gym six days a week. I am fit, healthy and happy. I couldn't have done it without being able to monitor my progress with my Charge HR and Aria.

Awesome news! I lost 50 lbs, but can't get the last 10 off I need, but not giving up. So was it a calorie in, calories out method or?

@divedragon: Yes, calories in, calories out. I limit my consumption to a maximum of 1400 calories a day, and I use up about 3400. (That's about 1400 by exercise and 2000 bmr.) So I lose about 3.5-4 lbs a week. I have been increasing the intensity of my exercising, partly because I don't want to plateau (and that is the cure for plateauing: just do more), and partly because the more I do, the fitter I get and the more I can do.
But - next week, when I reach my goal, I will adjust my plan (eating and exercising) to a slightly gentler level to maintain my new weight.

Awesome for you!
I was down 66 pounds (total overall goal loss is 75) but recently hit a plateau, dropped and went back up. So i'm working on getting the extra 3 pounds I put back on off. Thanks for the tip about intensity of working out. I need to start challenging myself more!
