Current starting weight - 204.6 (2/14/19)

LW - 202.4

CW - 202.4

GW - 195.0 (4/1/19)

Stretch goal weight - 193.0

UGW - 150.0

 

No gain, no loss - not horrible. Didn't make it to the gym Thursday or Friday so one day down from last week and I wasn't as strict on my calorie intake. Need to up my movement and water. 

 

@Bobbinyc  - I find that removing outer physical clutter helps me focus more on the inner physical clutter. I have been working on outer de-cluttering for a couple years now and have barely made a dent. It happens in waves, like my dieting, but like my weight, the overall trend is less stuff. Permanently getting things out of my house or garage makes me happy.

Trying to get to a healthier me I'm stuck at this time which causes me to revert back to old habits so I am doing this to acknowledge that I'm not in this alone yes this is my journey and it's different from everyone else's but I am not alone!

Hello again.  Yep sugar is darn addictive and some peeps experience withdrawals. Did you get the hearty soup made yesterday.  Sounds seasonably wonderful especially after being out in the cold.  Guess had a bowl of store bought organic veggie and barley soup.  You can do both let go of paper and weight I bet.  You are strong and determined. I somehow managed to weight 153.6 this morning and I can only attribute it to almonds and prunes late at night since I had salad and salmon for dinner. Sometimes it just takes longer to move the scale. A few days ago I saw 151.8 but the old up and down action is happening. I know that we have lost weight in the past and can do it again.  I know that it helps if I am not at home to graze during the day. That being said I'm off to painting class before I start eating again. 

We are going to persist and win in the end. We are determined and want to enjoy good health.

@Denise50  You are not alone! If you get a chance to go through some of the old challenge threads you will see that no matter our age, gender, marital status, location or current weight, we all fight similar battles. It is a journey and we are all walking it together. Glad to have you join us!

@Denise50  You are far from alone.  And you are in the company of some very smart, determined folks. We all have setbacks, fall into old unhealthy ways, and find a way to get back on track, even if it is one step at a time.

Hi @dancefoxtrot   Yep, I remember thinking my scale was a trampoline - up two, down one, up one, down two...We have to keep our emotions far away from the scale. It is just one way to gauge how we are doing.  If we eat well, move a good amount, drink water etc...then we know we are doing very well.  The scale is always slow to get the message.

I've been eating decently, drinking more water (still not up to 8, but getting there), and moving a bit more, but haven't been able to figure out time to really be active.  I'm working too many hours and just got involved in a couple of other things that also involve sitting.  UGH.

Crazy thing is, since I am so determined to de-clutter my home and I do some every chance I get, even for a few minutes, that adds on a lot of steps!  

I may not have lost any weight yet, but I am moving more.  And I have eliminated over half the piles of papers.  And I set up a very efficient and pretty file system.  (yes, I need my files to be pretty).  Feels good.

@Denise50  Hello,

You are not alone. Come on over to healthy habits in spite of the stupid stubborn scale.Some of us are back moving toward health since at least eating a little too much food that is healthy isn't as harmful as eating junk.

Soundds great that you are drinking more water and eating healthy food.  Also you are getting in more steps so improvement in 3 realms. Hooray! 

When can you fit in a quick walk between all your work? How about the weekend.  If we were closer we could go for a long slow walk with our birding binocs. Heart

Stay with it and I will try to also.  I need more sleep.  I have the week off from teaching for spring break so I can sleep in and do what pleases me.  Let's see what I do with my extra time.

Down just a bit but my fast food habit has been out of control all weekend.  The plan is to get back on track this week and next weekend is C2E2 (the big Chicago comic convention) so lots of walking Friday and Saturday. I too need to increase my water intake.

@dancefoxtrot  glad you are sleeping in this week.  I'm totally sleep deprived and it leaves me too tired to move as much as I'd like, and too tired to cook enough.  Life is very different when I can get 6 hours straight.  But, I am tackling the stresses, one by one.  So, hopefully, I'll get there.  

I wish we could go walking/birding together.  It would be fun.

@Cele21  Let me know if you figure out a way to increase water.  I have tried some silly ideas, that work for other people, and get me most of the way, but I'm not quite up to 8.

Hi Bobbi,

Short on steps yesterday as I went to a meditation workshop and sat from 10-5 pm. We did slow walking 2 times managed only 1774 steps. My friend and I went to dinner instead of walking. Well off to a dance class today. Did get 6 ce units so that is good as well as some calm energy. The notion of living in the present moment is lovely yet so difficult when my mind fantasizes and thinks so prolifically. My weight managed to drop to 150.6 this week but this morning it is back up to 153.4 Ugh!  The combo of few steps and nuts and cheese at night is the formula for gaining.

I wish that you and I could bird and walk together as well. I know that you are very busy now tho' and we are on opposite coasts. Maybe we can do it individually and share about what birds we see. I will take my camera on the way back from dance class I'll check on what birds are at the park lake if it isn't raining. 

So far I have had chai tea and need a second cup. No calories in that. Off to shower and then to dance and check to see who has migrated here.  One thing I know is that the mocking bird has learned lots of songs and sings close to my house. It is beautiful to hear.  I have seen robins, cedar waxwings, california thrushes, scrub jays, crows,common egrets, morning doves and white crowned sparrows a couple days ago. Yesterday it poured today so far the sun is peeking through the clouds. 

Make time to release stress and walk in nature Bobbi.  We get one life and need nourishment for our souls. 

Make time to enjoy this rapidly past life. We don't want to miss it.

Hi all,

Where are you all? Just want to say that I'm bouncing up and down and only made it to 150.6 for a couple days but this AM I'm right back up to 153.2.  More water and less munching at night on cheese and nuts. Darn it, it is so easy to gain it right back again. Okay starting again now and plan to drink lots of water and move more today and eat less! 

Hope that you are all making progress to your goals.  We can do this whether fast or slowly. We can be determined and strong. We are warriors for health.

hi all

Down a bit to 151.6 by taking almost 8200 steps yesterday and drinking 3 12 oz glasses of water at night and eating less late at night.  Now let's see if I can do this again and again. Also need to go to sleep earlier to get 8 hours sleep. Funny thing is I didn't eat until 11:30 AM so I lost .4 of a lb just making potty trips and fasting 2 hours longer.  So far only a V-8 juice, cereal and almond milk and water. About to eat a sweet potato and salmon patty.  More water. 

Our last 8 days are upon us. Special motivation to move and lose.

We can do this warriors.

I like your pretty files.Smiley Happy Why not have color in all aspects of life.  Good work getting rid of piles.  Yes my freaking scale is a trampoline. 151.4 to 153.6 over last 2 weeks. I agree that we can't attach our mood and self-esteem to the scale.  I know that  I eat heathy food and just drank a huge glass of water with Emergen C.

Just trying to be more active. Staying away from simple carbs but, enjoying complex carbs. Starting to experiment with intermittent fasting 16:8 feeling good!
