It's likely everyone has heard that athletes "train" for their sport.
Many of you are in the habit of showering daily, brushing your teeth two or more times per day, flossing, etc.
Were you aware that in many ways, we train ourselves to overeat?
We train ourselves to sit and watch tv instead of doing something else? Something maybe a little productive, or maybe just as simple as window shopping?
Each day, many of you have a routine. You do the same things every day.
Think about this routine, particularly if you struggle with your weight.
And remember! Struggle is good! It means you haven't given up yet!
Today - and just today - instead of watching tv, or whatever it is you do at 7pm - (if that activity is not going to the gym or going for a walk or some other exercise) - just today - for 5 minutes - 5 whole minutes - break that routine. Do something. Clean your room. Do laundry now instead of the weekend.
Do something different.
Just 5 minutes.
Tomorrow - do it again, only for 10 minutes.
We train ourselves to do the right thing - but we also train ourselves to do the wrong thing. That's how we got into our bad habit of watching tv (or playing computer games for me) in the first place. It was easier than going to the gym or going for a walk.
Change is not instant - it's a process. Start small if you must - but you must start. Today!
