High Activity, High Snacking

Hey folks.

I (M/27/Canada) am looking to drop a bunch of weight (CW~250 / GW~200).

My work allows me to take 3-5hrs/week at the gym, which I do, and then some.

Problem is, beer is good, and with beer comes chips, etc...

So, I am trying this Fitbit thing, and with the integrated diet tracking, I aim to get slimmer.

I am looking for some fitbit friends to beat at challenges, and poke at (and get poked at) to keep up the tracking.

welcome to the forum. Please use this link to find friends to help motivate and support you in your journey: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Share-Your-Story/Looking-for-Fitbit-Friends-Find-some-here/m-p/13155... Beer is good and with beer comes poor food choices. Just remember weight loss starts in the kitchen. Its awesome that you are going to track your food- it will open your eyes.. good luck!

Hi @Jacxy

Aside from being twice your age, your story matches mine..even the Canada part. Cool, eh? 🙂

Everybody's 'plan' is different, but the FIRST thing I did was stop alcohol and anything sweet. Once I got used to that, I made another adjustment. Then I made another..slow and steady but effective. I started near 250 at Xmas, and broke 200 this week.

The first month of skipping the pub and all the amazing food that goes with it was very hard; the peer pressure didn't help! (My local has a braised short rib poutine which is the best thing on earth...I gave that up too...omg I miss it...). However, as the weight began to drop, it became easier to keep up the good fight.

All the best, and don't give up doing the right things...you won't regret it.  Rob

Yes i know where yuo are coming from.

I'm Australian and we love our beer as well.

I have rationed myself to 6 beers a week, can have them all at once or spread it out over.

It has worked well - just a matter of getting used to it.
