I suggest weighing in once a week.
Any weight loss or gain is more likely to be real. If you weight every day, the loss or gain may have more to do with your sodium intake rather than your calorie intake. It is very discouraging to see that you gained a pound when in reality, you are only retaining water. Moreover, this is just as much about being healthy and having a good lifestyle as it is about weight.
The discouragements are not worth the stress. Once a week is the way to go.

I think it is personal dicision but speaking from experience I think it can make a person pretty obessed. There are many ways to measure your success, such as a pair of pants you want to get into and measurements as the one person suggested. No matter what you choose do what it right for you

I agree with you! Whatever is right for each individual and what makes them more comfortable.
I was used to weighing myself everyday on another scale my wife and I had before our daughter gave us the Aria scale for Christmas.
Thanks,

I personally weigh in every morning, but I have found that in order to get the best, most accurate results, one must weigh in at the same time each morning completely naken after the bathroom and before eating.

I weigh myself several times per week but my 'official' weigh-in day is Monday, so that's what I use for my weight loss [if any] for the week and how much all together since I started my latest program at the end of June, 2013.
What's best overall? I think that varies from person to person.

i weight my self every day at same time but only count ones a week as my official weight
i do it every day because this helped me to see every day is different and my body can easily change up to 5 lb each week so i don't freak any more when i go up because i know for me it will go down
and if i drink more water this helps to to stop the ups and downs
but every one knows them self's and what will help and what will drive you crazy
good luck you can do this

Looks like several good comments from people who have weighed in on this topic.
Sorry!! Couldn't pass that one up!!
I'd just make a comment (? plea) for the potential danger of NOT weighing in with some degree of frequency…I've battled my weight ever since college, which was nearly 35 years ago. In medical school my life was eat/sleep/classes and labs/study. It was total emersion!! I also had the great fortune of marrying a woman who could really cook…man, can she!!! And the way she demonstrated her support and affection was through food. Of course, I was soon to discover that I had the appetite of a vulture and the metabolism of a turtle. In 10 years, I added over 120 pounds to my frame!
And I didn't weigh in. Yep, a doctor who doesn't check his weight!!! All too often, we are more concerned with taking care of others than with taking care of ourselves. It's a character flaw for sure.
About 12 years ago, I really saw the need to step up and do something. I was 41 years old, 350 pounds, and it felt inside like I wouldn't see 50 if I didn't start moving. So, exercise, diet, all the good things.
But I wasn't really into the "scales" thing yet.
Then my Dad developed type II diabetes, and he's built like me and a retired surgeon. OUCH!!! I have 50% of his genes. Then my Mom's twin brother developed type II diabetes and he's built like me, too!!
Shots fired across my bow! I got the message.
I have an Aria and we spend quality time together first thing every Friday morning. I spend the work week concentrating on doing what I can to make that number and fat percentage on that little flat scale look better than it did last week. Our "cheat" night for the diet is Friday night with friends, and then I'm back on track Saturday morning. And I never miss a week. NEVER!!!
I've learned my lesson well and won't be making the mistake in the future. I'm down nearly 40 pounds since last August and still have some to go. But it's a long trip, and I'm enjoying the journey.

I have weighed once a day. I have weighed once a week. I have lost weight without ever knowing what I weighed before, during or after. Weighing every day makes me crazy, I obsess over every last 10th gained or lost. I make the excuses, I develop the reasons, I become afraid to eat, I overindulge, I go crazy!! I don't like being crazy. Weighing once a week makes me forgetful. I forget to log what I eat, I forget to watch what I eat, I forget to do all the right things. I don't like being forgetful. Weighing never, that hurts when you go see the doctor or feels great, either way: I don't really like many surprises in the doctor's office. So, I weigh no more than 3 times a week now. If I feel like I might be drifting..I check. If I am feeling kinda cute, I check, but no more than three times a week. My official day is Saturday, so I try to hold to Wednesday and Saturday. That way, I have an idea about how I am doing without craziness, forgetfulness or surprises!!

Steff, whatever method you wish to use on weighing yourself and you are comfortable with it is your choice. We all have our preferences and mine is weighing myself every morning at the same time before eating which I have been doing for years.
It keeps me in check so I don't get out of line and start indulging on what I eat and I can maintain myself. I am the type of person that can gain a few pounds in a matter of a couple of days and it is very hard for me lose that gained weight because of my age and my metabolism is not what is used be on burning calories quickly.
As we all know, our metabolism slows down quite a bit as we age. I will be 68 in a few months and I remember when I could hardly wait to be 21 so I could proudly show my ID to buy beer! Ha! That was quite a few years ago and how time flies!!
Take care and good luck on your weight loss.

I try not to weigh myself very often -- in principle once a month is my goal.
But, usually I weight myself if I feel I've been eating and working out hard. Yes, beyond my 'scheduled' weigh in I hit the scales when I'm pretty sure I will be happy with the result.

I purchased the Fitbit One and the Aria and started them both together.
I love the One, but the Aria is the "icing on the cake" (needing new metaphor, I think!) Up to 8 people can use one Aria. So, makes it even better...my initials are with my weight and body fat percentage. By the time I walk from the scale into my bedroom my graph is showing my weight.
I would suggest the Aria to anyone in the market for a scale--well worth the price!
Good luck.

I weigh myself everyday just because the aria scale so so simple. I go about my morning routine. As I am leaving the bathroom in the morning, step on the scale, wait for it to say my name and step off. I'd dont really pay attention to it except for about once a week when I go back and analyze my data. Although, I am trying to gain weight. I am ofcourse, trying to gain lean muscle mass and not fat. So I like to see how my weight changes daily depending on how I eat.

I weigh in at the same time and same day (Sunday) at the moment. I just started weighing myself normally again, I used to weigh in every week, but now I weigh in every two weeks.
