The scale is a better friend to me in the morning for some reason!

I spent 14 months weighing in everyday, sometimes multiple times a day, just for fun; after a meal or a dump or something. I found it more motivational to weigh everyday, first thing in the morning. Just being a few ounces lighter provided so much motivation as I started my daily routine.

I weigh in daily and record with MyFitnessPal.
In the past, I used the logger at The Hacker's diet. very good for showing trends and reminding you that while it does fluctuate, it has a trend. I think I will start keeping track there again now.

I love the Aria. It is very accurate. It tells you body fat percentage and that can be very helpful. You may only lose 1 pound, but your body fat percentage could be more of a loss. In the end, the actual number on the scale doesn't matter as much as how you feel and that you notice a steady decline in fat percentage loss. Happy Journey 😃

I weigh in every day. It obviously fluctuates a bit day to do (roughly 2 pounds) even though I do it naked in the morning (TMI?). It makes me very aware of how things affect my weight. Like I know if I eat a lot of sodium, like most restaurant food, I tend to weigh a pound or two more. It is slightly obsessive I know, but it's nice to be very aware of my body.

I didn't weigh myself for a long time. The scale we had was not very accurate, which is one reason. The other is that I didn't/don't want to become scale obsessed. I got serious about finishing my weightloss journey a month ago and purchased a new scale. I got an Eat Smart basic digital scale, but highly rated. I just wasn't ready to spend big bucks for an Aria.
Right now, I am weighing twice a week. I have no idea why, but there it is. I did take measurements at the beginning of the month and will take them monthly, since those take a while to show a difference.
That being said, I weigh first thing in the morning, after my ablutions and before I put ANYTHING in my mouth. In my PJs and no slippers.

I weigh myself every morning. I've lost over 40lbs since the beginning of February and I find it to be a huge motivator. If I'm down, great, I need to keep doing what I'm doing. If I'm up, I need to double my efforts and get back going in the right direction. So either way, I'm motivated. I find that failure can be just as big of a motivator as success, maybe even bigger.

Congratulations on the weight loss. Your knees will thank you for it. I think your attitude about why you weight yourself is excellent. I do the same as you. I "monitor" my situation by weighing myself. It tells me when I can eat thatburger or when I should opt for the salad. I lost twenty pounds last year in five months and I have kept it off by walking each day. I am never beyond three pounds of where I want to be, and that is because I track my weight. Keep up the great effort!!

I cannot help but weight myself once a day. I do it in the morning and I find that if you can weigh yourself after you've done a #2 but before you've eaten that you can get a more accurate weight. Obviously this isn't possible every day or with every person, but it helps for me.

I agree with you and that is how I weigh myself every morning but to each his/her own. I have been doing this method for years and it has worked for me and have lost up to 20 pounds but of course weight fluctuates as does our blood pressure taking into consideration what we drink and eat everyday of our lives.
I will turn 68 in June, God wiling, and hope He grants me a few more years of a healthy life but I need to do my part as well! I cannot exercise or walk like I used to due to a torn meniscus on my right knee and other health issues I have incurred but I am slowly recuperating.
Take care and keep up the good work and don't let up!

Thank you nyborn2014 and I am doing my best but I can't keep up with you young individuals. Mentally, I think I can still do what I used to in my younger years but then reality kicks in and my body says, "No way Jose!!" LOL.
Oh well, such is life and life goes on but I thank God everyday that I am still around to talk about it considering that a lot of my good friends have passed on at a young age!! Too young but that is God's call!! AMEN!!
Take care and God Bless!!

I try to weigh myself once a week. FIrst thing in the morning after I've gone to the bathroom. Sometimes I'll weigh myself during the week but I don't really count that.

I usually weigh in at 5:30 am daily. Always the same way for consistancy.

I agree it can be a bigger motivator if your up on the scale....I just have to learn some times I get so mad even when I know its salt...I have to learn to not get mad and just give up...I have had days when I'm up 2 pounds and it ruins my whole day..I get crabby and then I eat...lol...now I'm trying to say that's ok today you will just work harder to get rid of it. I track all my food so some days it looks like I have been eatting all day...which sometimes I do but they are low calorie items. I'm only down about 5 pounds for 3-4 months but its better than going the other way.

Yeah I weigh myself every morning. I feel it helps me to track if I ate too much sodium the day before.
