i don't see it cheating at all. I usually run up and down the stairs or usually do a little running on the wii fit. 😉

No I don't think it's cheating. If you do it long enough you actually get warm/hot from doing it.

According to this thread, if you are stepping in place to get steps in, you are not cheating but becoming a Fitbit addict.

Moving is moving! That's so much better than the other option! Of course you won't burn as many calories as running a marathon but you are certainly burning more than if you weren't moving! This is why Fitbits work!

Cheating is strapping your fitbit to the border collie while he tirelessly chases frisbees and tennis balls. I would never do that...just an example. ;D

Just so we're clear, it's the Border Collie thing that makes it bad. A German Shepherd would be okay, right?
Asking for a friend...

I'd clear the friend. I think that sounds about right.
Now I have heard my friend say that playing air drums while driving down the road listing to some classic Van Halen will indeed add a step or two. That one sounds a little shady to me though. I'm thinking friend could possibly add in a kick drum with the left foot, and call it legit.
Note: Playing a double kick drum in the car could potentially be hazardous to your health

Air drums while driving is a perfectly legit way to get steps, though I reccomend keeping headbanging along with it to a minimum, as that could be hazardous

Yes, but being cats, they will remain motionless as soon as you place your Fitbit on them, just to spite you.
