Intermittent fasting without calorie deficit?

I'm curious about experiences and opinions on this.  Does intermittent fasting tend to result in a calorie deficit?  Is a calorie deficit necessary in order to lose weight on intermittent fasting?  What do you think?

My personal opinion is that it's calories in vs calories out. Whether you have those calories spread out during the day or all at once in the afternoon or evening doesn't matter. If you're in a caloric deficit for a period of time, you will lose weight (barring all other medical stuff like thyroid issues or medications).

I tend to agree with you.  Although there have been some accounts of people who claimed they lost a lot of weight with IF despite eating a lot during their window.  I will say that IF has made it easier for me to cut calories, so it does have that going for it.  I'm also intrigued by the supposed health benefits which some studies report.
