UGH. Does it count as a NSV if you ONLY ate 500 calories more than your daily allowance on a day where you went to breakfast with your sister and her kids, lunch with your mom, and went to a dinner party in the evening? My family of 24 is all here to celebrate birthdays and I stuffed myself.
On the other hand, I DID log everything I ate? I think I'll avoid my scale tomorrow morning and go for a long spin class instead.

Hi I am in. Hope we check in more frequently than last time.
I didn't do well last time. woo hoo I lost .8 of a lb. Not happy with myself. These are numbers from July 4 results. I had a large july 4th meal AND apple pie and ice cream for dessert, so I will weigh in tomorrow because after dinner I am 156.6 now I always weigh before food or drink in the morning.
Good luck to you all. Let's do it this time.

@Agunga Welcome. Your goal is about to see you crush it. How old is your cute baby? Do you have a way to burn more calories or are you cutting back on certain foods or portion sizes?
We usually have step goals. Since I hurt my knee cartilage royally in Dec. I go for 5000 to 7500 steps or 2-3 miles a day.
To lose 1/2 a lb. a week we need to reduce calorie intake by 500 calories each day. So that is 4 lbs in 8 weeks.
I eat healthfully but my portions are large some days. Even healthy hummus and yogurt have calories.
All the best wishes for healthy changes,
Barbara G

Thank you, sadly as many women, I don't take pictures too often. That is my third grandson in the picture. There he was about 8 months old, now he's nearly two and a half and has been joined by newborn twin sisters! The twins were a huge surprise for my daughter as she and her husband had just decided that three boys were enough. lol
My goal for steps is usually 10K but that's the minimum. Most days I am between 15-20K. This is a HUGE change in my sedentary lifestyle from the end of May when I started. I am logging calories and food using the app. I try to stay away from carbs, but mostly I'm counting calories only by logging food. I've set the app to calculate a -750 calorie goal and most days I'm slightly below that.

5 kids is a big family these days, so I bet your daughter was shocked!.
Off to bird watch now.

I'm here! Ok, so I weighed in. I'm really angry at myself for gaining back weight. My summer clothes from my slimmest time aren't fitting, so I had to go back to my fattest summer clothes, though they are a bit big. I haven't gained everything back, so that's a plus.
I spent a few hours in my sister's pool yesterday afternoon and did a bunch of jogging laps around and hopping and other exercises, but because I had the fitbit on my wrist it wasn't counting much of the movement. I know I did it though.
Today, I did a short workout while watching tv and then my daughter and I did grocery shopping, going in and out of a few stores, so I racked up 6000 steps. I've got some housework to do to give me another 2000 maybe. We have a heat warning so I have to be careful.
Here I go..starting to track my food after a long break from it. Wish me luck. Haha.

@_Lilac_ Glad that you are back on your healthy path. You did great before so you know how to do it. Welcome back. I have to be careful of the heat as I end up pooped and dehydrated. Today I took shade breaks and watched a purple finch shower in the sprinkler. Lovely day. Now that it is 7 pm here I need not to snack!!! I aim to go to sleep by 11 pm so that is a stretch.

Whoo Hoo! So glad to see so many posting! @Agunga , welcome aboard! You are rocking this!
@RachelShrinks, I don't think we are even triplets now, I think we are a weight losing tribe LOL!
@_Lilac_ , good for you doing what you can with what you have while still being careful - I got dehydrated this weekend (out of stupidity) and it kicked my butt. I'm trying to stay away from fast food and soda during the week and now I have decided to cut way back on the weekend soda as well - dehydration and a sugar headache are not fun.
This weeks goals: Gym twice, water all week, sleep by 11:30.
Friday I'm going t to the arboretum with my daughter otherwise it would be gym three times.

Today I got up and was mowing the yard by 8:30am. It was nice and cool so I thought it best to do it before the heat built up. I'm tracking my food. I went for a walk along the waterfront with my daughter and one of the dogs. There's an art festival all week where artists are painting gigantic murals on buildings around the downtown. Along the river trail they have live music and different events. So far, I have 7662 steps. Yay me! My feet are swollen though, so I need to drink more and get that under control.
I spoke to the surgeon's office and decided to postpone/delay my appointment to see them until I get more comfortable in size to fit in the machines and so I am more fit for recovery. They are happy to go along with that for now. It will give me motivation for this work I'm doing!
I hope everyone has a great rest of the day. Please, stay hydrated, stop and smell the air, .... Oh! I forgot. There was a lady at the river sitting on a bench blowing bubbles. No kids around. She was just blowing bubbles for her own enjoyment and I thought, "Why the heck not???" So, next time I'm at the dollar store, I'm picking up some bubbles and go be a kid again.
Ok, everyone blow bubbles. Have fun.

Hi Everyone! So good to see familiar faces and some new ones!
I haven't lost, but haven't gained, despite spending way too many hours sitting while working.
I decided I won't make progress until I break my goals down more, especially with all the heat and humidity we have. For me, it's just too hot to use a quick break and run out for a walk.
I tried walking yesterday at home during breaks and only made it to 3500 steps. Don't have plan B yet. But..I'm setting goals for each week to get myself in better shape.
This week is drinking more water. I was cleaning out a closet and found a beautiful glass pitcher (wedding present, so it is now an antique!) I used to save for special holiday dinners. It happens to hold 8 glasses of water. Now it sits on my desk, so I see it all day. Why save it? It's working! yesterday I got up to 7 glasses - new for me! Hey, I'll buy crystal if that will help.
I also injured my knee a bit and it hasn't healed enough, so I'm starting Physical Therapy this week. Maybe that will help me start moving more.
We can do this! So nice to be together!

So far so good. I've been eating well and under calories spent. I actually burned 4000 calories yesterday with mowing and walking. At my weight, it's not that hard to do, to be perfectly honest. I'm waiting for my purge day when I suddenly drop a few pounds, then I know it's going to work. I'm obviously not still stuck on that plateau that lasted a year because I've GAINED.
I made sure I have lots of veggies in the house and lean meats. Drinking lots of water. I already feel more energy and have more umph to do things.
I so needed this push.

Ugh. Depression reared its ugly head again once the fam left, and while the fam was here, I didn't workout as much as I should. And I just finally got myself off a med that was ramping my heart rate and blood pressure up, so now I'm totally stalled.
SIGH.
Anyway, onward, right? We can do this!!
