How It Works:
The purpose of this challenge is to keep track of your daily step goals for June 2017. This is not a competition to see who can do the most amount of steps, instead it is a challenge to measure your consistency . So whether you do 100,1k, 5k, 10k or even 40k steps a day, this is measuring how many days out of 30 for the month can you hit your goal.
Some of you might have a constant goal of 10k steps every single day and some might have a variable goal throughout the week, for example.
Monday -> Friday = 10k steps a day
Sat & Sun = 6k steps a day
Regardless of how you structure your daily goals, the only thing that matters for this challenge is whether or not you reach what you set out to do.
Suggested Posting Format
1) Post either your constant or variable step goal.
2) Keep track of the # of daily goals achieved / 30.
Optional
3) Post either your constant or variable (anything you want) goal.
4) Keep track of the # of daily goals achieved / 30.
Oddly enough, the optional items keep growing, that's why I changed the title slightly. In the end it's about setting goals and improving habits. So the optional items can really be anything. Running, biking, weight lifting, food goals, etc. Some will add a goal that is not daily - ie. wanting to do so many strength training workouts in the month - so you would be aiming for a number not necessarily out of 30. Really, it's just completely open.
Injury Notice
If you injure yourself during the month and decide scale back the number of steps due to the injury, then all you have to do is adjust your daily step goal for that period. If you normally do 10k steps a day but pull a hamstring and decide to do minimal walking (2k steps a day), then all you have to do is change your goal.

Day Eighteen
1. 10,000 steps/day. I will be consistent in June!
18/30
2. Running. I will run 70 miles during the month.
44/70
Another very hot day today.
No running, but I did manage a good swim in the sea.
I had to wait until after the sun had started to dip before venturing out for a stroll to hit my 10k, but I did and with a couple of thousand extra.

37C?!
Well done for running in that @Bhuvana!
That's the kind of heat that makes me think twice before blinking because the exertion makes me sweat too much.

@Dave001: Thanks!
Sunday morning 8:30 is the regular time for the long run with the group. I wanted to finish earlier than 10 AM as the temperature was rising too quickly. Luckily I finished by that time. Sometimes, you have to get used to this kind of heat too when you are training for races. Last year, I ran 1/2 in 43C in one of the race. So you cannot change those race day weather.

June 18:
Goals
10K steps/day -- 18/30 + 11K bonus steps
1 Pushup/day -- 18/30 + 44 bonus reps
14 lifting days -- 8/14
Tweaked my lower back at some point yesterday. It's a reoccurring problem. Threw it out 10 years ago or so trying to lift something heavy that I thought was light. Heard a pop in the back and I could barely walk or even breath for about 5 days. Seems to come back every once and awhile when I bend over to tie my shoes or pick up a ball off the ground to throw to the dog. Never as bad or for so long as the first time, but sharp pain just the same. Hopefully it will pass in a day or two. Anyway, I did get my lifting day in yesterday, but I skipped the deadlifts 🙂

18-19th:
1) 19/26 days - 5000 steps or equal stationary activity (like spinning)
2) 5/9 days - gym program
3) 5/4 days - hiking
4) 1/4 days - take it slow
Feeling no need to slow down but rather the opposite. C25k yesterday (again) cause walking is getting boring and unsatisfying when I feel like I have so much more energy.
Today I went for a hike because I was in a bad mood and needed to expel that energy and make something good out of it. 10/10, recommended.

10k steps 19/30
.5 hour activity 19/30
1+ pushup 13/20 (Starting: 1 reg 4 modified, Best so far: 25 modified Total: 134)
1+ crunch 12/20 (Starting: 10, Best so far: 25 Total:180) Switching crunch for situp since I can finally do them.
1+ situp 1/5 (Starting: 21; Best so far 21 Total: 32)
1+ plank 13/20 (Starting: Found out I was doing planks wrong. LOL oops! Anyways, doing correctly my best is 45 seconds)
28 ounces fruit/veg 12/15 <-- Was finished, decided to add 5 more days..
Interesting last couple days. Broke a few of my personal records and got 50,000 steps yesterday. That was pretty cool.
Also, discovered the runtastic apps for sit-ups and push-ups and I'm going to start using those to keep track. Sometimes by the time I get to the computer I already can't remember how many I did. It was neat to discover that I could do sit-ups.

Day 19: Heat wave continues. 😞 (As a human, always complain whether it is too hot or too cold... ) Did a short brisk walk for 30 mins. Completed my set of goals. 🙂

2. Running. I will run 70 miles during the month.

Two thirds of the month is done!
Good step consistency so far, but I'm slightly behind the curve with miles run. This heatwave isn't helping, the effort of showering is enough to leave me sweating and exhausted.
I need to screw my courage to the sticking place and not fail!

1+ plank 14/20 (Starting: Found out I was doing planks wrong. LOL oops! Anyways, doing correctly my best is 45 seconds) Giving up plank for now, simply cannot do them for even a moment now that I've switched to sit-ups instead of crunches. There's just nothing left in the tank for planks. Might be able to add back next month after I'm more accustomed to sit-ups.

I'm having a bit of trouble finding a perfect balance on my calorie intake. When I had it set for personalized, I'd go to bed with my calories in the green and wake up to see that I'd finished the previous day in the red. So, I switched to sedentary, but, now when I go to bed with calories in the green, I'm in the blue and under when I check the next morning. Reviewed and it looked like I was pretty much under on calories every day this week. Hope that's why I feel rundown today. Ate at a 500 calorie deficit instead of 1000 to do a bit of catch-up. Everyone at work has a bug though. I ended up covering for call-outs at another work location until someone else could come in to take over and let me get to my work location. Kid was just sick too, so, ate my 28 ounces of veggies, took a pile of vitamins and now I think I'll go to bed early.

1) 10,000 steps a day
2) 26 days strength training (6 days on, 1 day off)
3) 30 days - single push-up
4) 15 days of laps in the pool
14/30 on the steps (falling apart, this week isn't going to be good)
17/26 on the strength training
20/30 on the push-ups (did a couple at the plant on Thurs)
9/15 for the pool
This is mostly because of personal stuff, but I'm basically falling apart this week. Sunday I was only 500 steps shy of 10,000 but couldn't bring myself to do them. It's 9:40 and I'm not at 5500 and I need to do work for tomorrow so I'm not likely doing any more. My weight is actually steady (if not even down a bit) but best comment is that I'm emotionally drained and all over the place. Those who read my earlier post, well, more of the same on the personal side.
Haven't forgotten you all, and will be back. The bulk of the work stuff ends Friday - then it goes back to the usual chaos. That I can handle though.

That's great @Bhuvana. In my case it is starting to spread to other body weight execises most days. And every day I've been getting that one push-up. Good to complete one thing every day.

Another glorious day here! I spent most of the day at the beach. And did quite a lot of swimming to cool off.
Needed to wait until 8pm to run. I did 5.2 miles in 50 minutes, but it was still very hot. I must've lost about a gallon in sweat!

Forgot to check in and report yesterday -- so here's a twofer.
June 19:
Goals
10K steps/day -- 19/30 + 11K bonus steps
1 Pushup/day -- 19/30 + 83 bonus reps
14 lifting days -- 8/14
June 20:
Goals
10K steps/day -- 20/30 + 20K bonus steps
1 Pushup/day -- 20/30 + 95 bonus reps
14 lifting days -- 9/14
My 1 push-up goal skyrocketed the past two days. Usually what happens is when I get down for that first one I wind up doing a set of 20 or 25. And since going down to the floor to do just one isn't a big deal I wind up starting and completing a set multiple times throughout the day.
@A_Lurker - hope you are feeling better. The week is nearly done! @almost_where - yes, you've turned it around! Keep moving!
