Did you mean:

Just been weighed by a nurse at my GP surgery and...

Hello everyone

Bit of background - I'm 5 foot 1, female and was 72kg before I got my Fitbit.  My diet consisted of mainly take-aways (home-cooked meals were a rare treat because of my husband's depression and my unsteadiness/safety).  I invested in my Fitbit at the end of September 2019 and was weighed in October 2019 to work out exactly how much weight I needed to lose.

I was 68kg in October and was told that my ideal weight was around 60kg, so I had about 8kg to lose.

I was weighed again at about noon today at the same surgery and, since getting my Fitbit and using it to track everything as well as slightly improving my exercise (I'm disabled and walking is a challenge for me at the best of times), I'm now down to 63kg, so I've lost 5kg (approx 10lbs) since getting my Fitbit and I've only got 3kg (approx 6lbs) to go before I'm finally at my ideal weight.

It's taken me 17 years since coming out of hospital a size 28-30 (I went in with a size 6 skirt being held up by my hip bones) but the end is in sight now!  I'm size 12-14 now and I'd like to get back down to size 10 (the right size clothes for my height), but I need to get rid of my belly and thighs before I'm happy.

I'm not doing anything remotely difficult - just eating more sensibly and walking our dog twice a day, but if I've worked it out right, I'm losing about 1kg (2lbs) a month which doesn't sound like a lot 'cos people seem to expect to lose that every week, but slow and steady wins the race according to the nurse today.  If I keep on keeping on with what I'm doing, then I should be back down to my ideal weight by the middle of May, then I just need to work out how to maintain my weight.

J2O's are on me this afternoon!

Amanda - a Fitbit Inspire user since 29th September 2019
