Mermaid, congrats on the continued weight loss. 3 lbs while on vacation is terrific. I'm most imoressed that you 1. Limited the ice cream and 2. Did a yoga retreat. What a gret way to take care of yourself. Do you practice yoga regularly?

Sorry I missed out on the last few days. What an inspiring, smart group. You have kept me going through healing a foot injury and now I am ready to increase my walking more. Thanks to everyone for sharing so much.

Total weight loss for last week was 4 pounds. But it always seems like I do great and drop 2-4 pounds during the week, then I get to the weekend and stay at a standstill for the full weekend until Monday rolls around. I can't complain though, that's a good weight loss rate per week. And I have checked my body measurements and i've dropped 4 inches just in my hips and 3 inches in my waist. That's where I can see the results regardless of the scale.

Hope everyone is doing great and meeting their goals 🙂

3rd Update

Started a new diet yesterday, called State of Slim, it seems to work for me, involves lots of healthy food, counting portions, not calories, which I like a lot.  I'm not sure if I should adjust my Labor Day Goal weight, because it might be a little unrealistic.  But I guess I'll keep it and just see how close I can get.

SW: 163

CW: 162.2

C GW: 149

GW: 139

Tried a new class last night, Booty Barre, kind of a blend of Pilates & Ballet, nice for sculpting, would be a great maintenance exercise class, I think I need to burn a few more calories, so I need more Cardio Tennis (cancelled this week because of a local tournament) and Running (no excuse there, other than it's been so darn HOT)

@dancefoxtrot Congrats on 138.8, that is my happy healthy range, I was there easily about 5 years ago, when I got married, then well I guess I got lazy, and now I'm in the 160s *shocker*

It was so disappointing to put on some dance clothes and have them be tight for my ballet class last nigh., Then to be around these slim dancer bodies, that was a double *whammy.* But I just put a smile on my face and held back my insecurities. I told myself "I am here, I am working on being my best self" I held my posture high, and powered through and did my best.  I may have to work for every single # to come off, but then it will be all that much sweeter, because I have earned my body!

Word whimsy,

Yes, yes, yes. Good for you holding your posture and head high and dancing in ballet class. Are you sore today? Ballet class is quite a workout and builds muscle that burns fat. Go back each and every class and dance like no one is watching. Good for you to switch to powering through the class from comparing yourself to the lithe ballet bodies. I love what you told yourself, "I'm here and I'm working on being my best self." That is an affirmation for so many situations on a daily basis. Thanks for sharing it. I have repeated it several times in the last few minutes. It is a statement that we are on this beautiful planet and doing our best.

The weight will come off I promise since at 74 years young I'm burning the fat off by dancing and walking, so I know it is possible.

I had let myself get to 153 slowly indulging in mostly healthy food but not watching portion size and being too sedentary at the computer for work.

I made it to 138.1 this AM so that is 3.1 more to get to my 135 by labor day.  Last time I saw 134 was for a dance performance in March 2006. I'm in the normal BMI range but still too much lower ab fat.

You can get back to the 130's and your happy healthy weight before 6 months is up I'm sure.

All the best,

Barbara G

Wow you are dropping those lbs. with the speed of silver lightening. What are you doing different on the weekends from the M-F time. More food or calories, less activities or is your body just holding more water or building more muscle?

You are amazing.

Hi Bobbinyc,

Glad you are back. How are you doing with food intake and activity now that you have a happier foot?

Do you feel like eating less when it is hot? That always helps. Salad and water galore.

5 more weeks to LD and we are doing this together.

Sending you positive energy for a nice run in a cool environment.
