Labour Day to Halloween 2015 Challenge

Hi everybody! This is a group with awesome people and we all have the same goals! We may have different ways to get there, so please keep the thread friendly so we can all enjoy the journey!

 

We are starting on Labour Day - September 4 and will be ending this challenge on Halloween October 31. 

 

I know you will all give your best - just remember: keep your goals achievable and HAVE FUN!!!

@Xakka You have lost so much weight already!  Great job!  Isn't it wonderful to be physically active doing something you enjoy so much?

I'm in 3 work week hustle challenges his week and I've also ran three days in a row. I've averaged 5.58 within those three runs. Feels great to actually keep up with first place in all three challenges.

Checking in for this week.  The scale is still moving slow as molasses, but MOVING, nevertheless.  I'm starting to get back with my exercise program and that's helping.  If nothing else, it gives me more energy.  Not a bad gift for an old gal!  I probably won't make my Halloween Challenge weight, with only two weeks left to go and an average loss of less than a pound a week, but if I can break the back of that darned 200 number, I'd be thrilled.  So I am changing my challenge goal to reflect that and to keep from getting discouraged.

 

USW: 221

CSW: 203  (challenge starting weight)

FCW: 201 (current weight)

Halloween GW: 199

UGW: 150-160

So very close and of course you are about to drop through that 200 level.  If you are active and stay away from carbs and sugar laden crap you will be shooting through that 200 in the next couple weeks. You so can do this.

Congrats on dancing swing again. I know that burns the calories. Glad your feet are better. Do you have comfy dance shoes?

I have been trying to find some fit as long as I have been dancing, had a particularly bad pair for a workshop last year which lead to surgery. But I on fortunately have a strange size foot at a 13.5 men's, no stores carry that size so I usually end up with too big or too small. I haven't discovered the secret to finding good dance shoes

Anyone who was wondering about @Mermaid3011 

 

She's doing okay, she's taking a break from the challenge due to some medication changes that are affecting her weight loss. She said thank you for asking about her and she will be back after Halloween 🙂

Actually I don't know yet. The teacher taught me a Tango that he does with another student but I don't like parts of it so I have to figure out how to make changes to it. I mean I need to research Tango patterns that I like better.  Truly I want my own Tango that is challenging and dramatic so I feel good about presenting it. So off to research Tangoes from the professional finalist on youtube. I can do some of what those young bodies do so why not? 

First Tango, then Foxtrot, then Viennese Waltz then back to improve on the Waltz. I've got my hands full and I love it.

Thanks @dancefoxtrot and @awood08 for the encouragement.  It's surprising how much it helps me while I'm feeling stalled and struggling to have someone who knows what it's like tell me YOU CAN DO IT!  You guys are the BEST!!! I will soon be sending up rockets of celebration soon.  Smiley Happy

@awood08  I am in Florida too, in the Bradenton Sarasota area.  I am also LOVING the cooling off period.  

 

Things here are good.  I am soooooo looking forward to the weekend.  I will be taking my granddaughter to a halloween event tonight.  She is going as Snow White.  She will look so cute!  I am loving the whole 3 year old thing.  I could spend tons of time with her.  

 

Apart from that I need to clean clean clean my house because my sister comes on Wednesday next week!!!  We are going to have so much fun!

@SarahM I'm in Central Florida area and it's so nice for all these Halloween events! I'm taking my 2 and 6 year old to Seaworld since we have passes for their Halloween festivities. Enjoy that time together! My husbands parents & my parents love doing the same kind of things. I had a boy first so the 3's were awful since he's a boy and little boys are chaotic lol I'm much more excited for the 3's with my daughter

@dancefoxtrot Thanks for your concern about my health.  I haven't gotten any more scary headaches, though I also haven't done any weights yet.  Been mostly doing pilates and walking.

@awood08 Thanks for letting us know about Mermaid.  I get concerned when people just "disappear", even though we all do at times.  I hope her medication gets straightened out soon.
