Crookymonster, 14 stone is 56 pounds so that would only be a pound a week for 56 weeks. If you are overweight 56 pounds you can probably do that. What you eat is far more important than exercise. Exercise is very important for health, longevity and muscle maintanence. But to lose weight eat nutritious food which will fill you up and be more satisfying. Don't waste calories on sugar, or alcohol, try to hold it down on grain products. Google the 5 - 2 diet. You might like to almost skip eating 2 non consecutive days a week. It is easier for me than dieting all the time at a seriously reduced calorie level. Your metabolism doesn't slow down when you diet only 2 days a week. But you need to find a way you can tolerate forever so that you will not "fall off the wagon" and gain back lost weight ever. Are you a crook?

Good advice you got from @Glenda. I agree with her nutrition is key. Note there is nothing miraculous about the 5:2 diet: like any other diet, it will only work for weight loss if 1) it manages to put you in a reasonable caloric deficit and 2) you can adhere to it long enough. It’s one approach, but there are many other ways to do it. As long as the two abovementioned conditions are met, weight loss will happen. With that diet, a weekly deficit is created with two (very) low-calorie days. I’m currently doing something similar with four low-calorie days per week (but I eat almost twice as much during these days as in the 5:2 diet), but I’m only going to do it for 8 weeks.
I would suggest you use an online calculator such as this one in order to figure out your BMR and how much (or rather little) you need to eat to go from 133 to 108 kg (sorry, had to convert to metric to make any sense of stones) in 14 months. You can determine your activity level by looking at the calories burned according to your Fitbit and comparing them to the TDEE obtained with each of the five activity levels in the calculator. If you’re not familiar with BMR and TDEE, they’re defined at the bottom of the page.

Crookymonstar. I was doing that before without a pencil. When Dominique mentioned killograms I started refiguring. I really messed up before I know. 21 stones being 14 # each is about 300 pounds. since you want to lose 14 stone, that is about 200 pounds. That seems too much for you to need to lose since then you would only be about 100 pounds which is about 45 kg! Anyway losing 200 pounds in 14 months figuring 4 weeks per month would be 3 1/2 pounds a week. A 300 pound person can lose that much a week but as you get smaller it will become more difficult. It is just a math thing. But by that time maybe you will have learned some better eating habits. Killograms, stones and pounds are confusing. 🙂

Crookymonstar, Maybe you would enjoy looking into some of the other forums or threads, whatever you call these things. But they talk about diet and exercise all the time. The Christmas to Valentines Challenge isn't really a competition, just support & conversation about it and you can ask questions there and have a large audience that can answer. There are other challenges but I haven't looked in on them.

Crookymonstar. I noticed a thread in the inspiration topic group just for chefs!! I didn't look into it. I wonder if tasting things is a problem for chefs. Wine judges don't swallow the wine to avoid intoxication. Maybe chefs have to taste like wine judges or use 1/4 of a teaspoon? I think it would be hard to control your weight and be a chef unless you never eat any of the food except when sitting down and it is food for yourself? Glenda
