Looking for friends and friendly motivation!

Hello I'm Candace and I'm fairly new to fitbit.  So far I've really only used it to track my steps and activity but nothing more than that.  About two years ago I made the decision to start changing my life and I lost about 50lbs.  Since then I've managed to keep most of it off (give or take 5-10 lbs fluctuating) but now I'm really interested in getting back to my previous weight.

I'm a busy mum of 2, work full time, and have a very demanding and stressful job.  Oh, and I love running.  Unfortunately I don't have much motivation right now... Life, stress, and everything in between.  It'd be nice to find others on here with similar interests and goals.  Weightloss wise my first short-term goal is to lose 5-10lbs by mid-July and around 20lbs by the end of the year.

Hi,

I'm new to fitbit too.  I’m eager to get “moving”! I have a pretty sedentary job and think the accountability factor of using fitbit will be good for motivation. I’m aiming to lose weight and generally get more fit. Feel free to add me too. Here’s to an active day Smiley Wink

Hello,

I am a married mom of 1 that will be 1 in Just a few weeks.

I am finding it very hard to get rid of my last 10lbs. I have no motivation and have discovered I LOVE food. Before getting pregnant I worked out religiously, and ate great. Now, I have no desire but know I need to get back eating right and lose a few lbs.

Hello corrosiveheart!

I completely relate to what you wrote.  I'm a mom of one boy with most of my day spent at work and the evening filled with his karate classes.  Finding time (and motivation) for myself is difficult but I think the support of others can help to make the difference.  There is a lot of positivity from everyone in this discussion which is awesome!  Please feel free to add me as a friend.  All the very best!

Hi, very welcome to add me as friend too.  I have lost 14 lbs since the start of the year and want to lose another 10lbs.  Am finding it difficult to get motivated again and dont want to slip back in to bad habits now.

I work full time, 3 small kids and it can be tricky getting all my steps in, thought I am getting better at it!  Weather getting nicer too so getting out more these days.

I have had my fitbit since January, now I need more motivation to keep moving. I know there is someone out there that can help motivate me to get up early when it is cooler and walk. I also try to swim and ride bikes and of course those activities are not steps. Thanks DMC

Hey I know what you mean!! I've been slacking so much and I thought to myself I need some motivation. A few friends have suggested the fitbit. All these dedicated hard working people are keeping me going!!!
Why don't u set ur fitbit alarm to early I. The am? If u don't have to work early why not??? Plus you will get it out of the way! If I had mornings off I so would! I know you can get back on track!!! Good luck 🙂

Welcome to fitbit!

I am somewhat new to fitbit as well, my husband and I just started using it on April 23rd. I lost 4 lbs within my first 3 weeks of using fitbit, but in the last week or so I gained about 1.5lbs...kind of discouraging. A few years ago in college I was able to lose about 30lbs in about 8 months, so I know weight loss for me is slow but possible. Well after getting married last year and being diagnosed with Grave's Disease, I managed to gain about 15lbs. I was really excited to see that first 4lb weight loss and could really use a support group to help keep it up! Any of you are welcome to add me as a friend, I am looking for a support group as well!
