My daughter and I just got back on the fitness trail and we both have a significant amount of weight to lose. I had better sucess at the beginning of the year when I paid attention to my diet specifically and activity/exercise second. My daughter did well with exercise, but didn't like tracking her food. Now we are focusing on both and would like to meet others who are in similar situations. Any words of wisdom as we start this journey?

I am proud of you for this! and company of your daughter is great. Keep at it. I have about 50 to loose but really it seems like a long journey for all of us. I keep thinking about how i want to live, not how I want to die! 🙂 your grand children will thank you.

Hi, @jtepp, why not jump in on the weekly weigh-in thread in this forum? There are several people on their working through big challenges and several who have already lost 100 lbs!
Even if you don't want to post your weight there are lots of really encouraging people there to help keep you motivated.

There are two parts to be successful, exercise and diet. To be successful, if you've failed before like I have, is to pick the one that's easiest and get into a regular habit, then incorporate the other. Completely changing both at the same time may be too much at one go and lead to giving up.
