Lose 30 pounds by Christmas (previously over on original forum)

ANSWERED

Hey everyone who has been in this challenge.  I am starting a new thread where we can keep posting.  We are almost to Christmas so don't lose momentum!

I have lost 23 now.  Not sure I can lose 7 pounds by Christmas as my weight loss has slowed a bit lately.   But I am sticking with it and will take what I can get!  Hope to see you all over here in the new spot!

Cheers!

Congratulations Cassandra!!  We both started the challenge on the same day!!  I didn't realize that till your post!  I know what you mean about the deadline stressing you out!  I met the goal too!  It was too darn close and down to the last minute for me!  LOL  I ended up with 30.8 # loss!  And now I need to lose another 30 to be in the "Normal" BMI range.  So, nothing changes as far as my diet and exercise plan, I just get to enjoy the fact that I DID meet this goal by the deadline and it is the best Christmas present I am getting this year!  Yahoo!!  Merry Christmas!  Hope to see you around the forums.  Take care!

Thanks Shelley for pointing me over here.  I've been stuck at the 24 lb lost the last two weeks.  I've got the last 6 lbs left to go.  I'm still hopeful that I can make it despite the latest setback.

Yesterday, my fitbit one broke away from the holder, I did not realize it, went to the doctors and when I came back found it on the driveway smashed to smithereens.  I ran over it.  I can't decide whether to order the Force and be without a Fitbit for a long, long, time since it is outof stock everywhere or just bite the bullet and buy another Fitbit One.  I have a temporary pedometer but it is not as good.  Does anyone out there know how we can manually log in steps into the fitbit dashboard?

Roma, I feel your pain!  So sorry that happened to you!  I also want to get a Force and I don't know what I would do if I didn't have my zip to tide me over.   I wish I knew a way to put steps in for when I forget to wear the fitbit.  It is rare but sometimes I forget to transfer it from what I was wearing to change of clothes.  I hate it when that happens!!  I think you are the only friend I had to point over here.  If you are friends with anyone else from this challenge, please let them know where we are now!  I am also hoping to start a new slightly less ambitious Challenge in January - maybe 25 by Mother's Day?  Have you been thinking about any new challenges?

check amazon.com.  they show having them in stock and you can get a really fast delivery.  take the free delivery, don't pay for it.  at this time of the year they are sending them fast and furious anyways.

hope this helped.

Thanks

Oh-Wow Amzon does have the Fitbit Force but at a considerable markup.
The sellers are asking minimum $40 more than the $129 advertised price
everywhere else. I might just go over to Best Buy or Target and get
another Fitbit One.

Check out the keto diet if you are set on that 30lb mark!

Hey Roma!  I just ordered it too!  So excited!  I have had the zip which doesn't count stairs or sleep.  I am going to be curious how having those new features impact my motivation.  Might start climbing more stairs!  Definitely need to have the feedback about sleep.

Hey Roma!  Guess we are the only ones who made it over here from the other forum.  I have 4.5 pounds to go now.  How is it going with you?  Not sure if I can pull off losing that much in a week and a half since I have been losing about 2 pounds a week typically on a good week.  But if I am within a couple of pounds, I will take it!  BTW, I started a short challenge just to get people though the next couple of weeks without gaining anything.  It is listed in this same weight loss section under Holiday Challenge.  Would love you to come over there.  Got a few more people signed up to do it.  You might find a little more support.

Shelley-I see.  I did ask them to come join us over here but so far no takers.  Do you know if we can still comment on the old forums?  I'll  go over to the Holiday Challenge for support,  I have 3.5 more lbs before I can hit the 30 lb goal.

My fitbit force just arrived.  I was bummed that for 6 1/2 days I had no steps counted towards the leaderboard.  Somehow this little device just makes me move more.  I need the posirive reinforcement.  Yesterday, my husband and I went to NYC and walked from the new Freedom Tower to the Empire State Building.  However, I was not as motivated.  I kept asking him how many steps we've taken but I was not really into it and at one point I asked if we could take a cab instead of walking.  Luckily he said no.

Unfortunately we cannot post on the old forums.  They are "read only" now.

You are doing awesome with your weight loss.  Pulling for you to reach the 30 pounds by Christmas.  I know what you mean about the power of the Fitbit to motivate.  Glad you have your new Force and hope it gets you back in the groove.

See you over in the Holiday Challenge!

I might be a pound and a half away from my goal. My weight has been fluctuating a lot again lately so hopefully these last couple weigh-ins haven't been flukes.

Roma, to log steps manually, click on Log, next to Dashboard at the top of your screen.  Then click on Activities under Log, scroll down the page to Log Activities, and enter the type of activity you did during the day 🙂

Keep it up! We're in the homestretch.

I really hope some of the others make it over here. I'm interested to see how everyone else is doing.

As for me, I almost keeled over when I stepped on the scale today because I have 0.6 pounds to go. So close!

Roma made it after months of hard work hiking for hours!  Yea Roma!!  So happy for you!  I don't care if you got that last pound off because of Colonoscopy Prep.  You worked hard to get there and deserve to be proud!  Whoo Hoo!!

Yay, Cassandra!  You are sooooo close!  How exciting!  Be sure to post when you get there!!

I have 1.5 #s to go and only four more days to get there.  I am disappointed that I have a cold now and feel so bad.  It has made it harder to have the energy to push myself.  I did get to my 10K today and have eaten within my calories.  Hoping that is enough!

Shelley.  Hope you feel better soon. Rest up so you will be good as gold on Christmas. You and

Lady Cassandra will get the 30 lb price.  Hope I make it too.  1.5 lb came back as after I started eating again
