Motivated by fear

I have been having difficulties getting motivated.  I don't recommend this method of motivation but it is working for me right now.

I live in a 5th wheel alone with my pets.  The other day I managed to get myself locked out of the trailer.  I had one window I thought I could squeeze through so after looking for any other option I had to go for it.

The window I had to get through was unlocked because there is a cable going through it.  I managed to get the window open but naturally it latched at a low point so I did not have much clearance to get through the window and no way to unlatch it from outside.  To add to the scene I have my sewing center set up blocking that window.  So, not only did I have to get my fat a$$ through the window but I also had to squeeze through the legs of a folding table after pushing as many crates of material out of the way as I could.

On one hand I was glad my neighbor was gone so he didn't witness this debacle but on the other hand if I got stuck there was no one to help me.

I finally got up the nerve and went in head first.  I got halfway into the window and, of course, my butt wasn't fitting.  I was past the point of no return.  All anyone from the outside could see were my legs hanging out the window.

The thought of having to be rescued from that position gave me the burst of adrenaline I needed to suck in the fat cells, push the rest of the stuff out of my way and get my legs through the window.

Hallelujah, I made it and I think I managed to do it without any witnesses!!

Now, some people would say they would keep an extra key outside.  I am taking the attitude that if I lose the weight I need to lose I could easily squeeze through my window.

That is my motivation!!  Each time I reach for a snack I think about that tight squeeze and think better of it.

Think that was bad!! Try sitting on a wooden kitchen chair and listen to it creaking and making sounds like it is going to break with you sitting  on it. That was me at 270, but I don't hear that sound anymore at 194.

Oh dear. Nonetheless I am going to suggest you keep a spare key hidden outside. You don't want to be trying to squeeze in through the dryer vent if the window isn't open next time. Smiley Wink

Ha ha ha!  Imagining the visual 🙂

You are too funny, but that definitely sounds motivating.  Fear is a good motivator; that's how I quit smoking.

Sorry for laughing but it is a pretty funny story @SunsetRunner Cat LOL

My family has a bunch of firefighters, so I'm usually terrified to get hurt while doing something (or even falling in the shower!) otherwise I'd have my sister in law and neighbors taking me out Smiley LOLSmiley LOL

@Trooper I broke a chair while doing a radio interview! It was live and it was horrible Smiley Sad

Don't be sorry for laughing.  I posted it just so others could enjoy the humor behind the situation.  I have a great sense of the riciculous and enjoy laughing at myself.
