Hello fellow fitbitters,
I was lucky enough to get a fitbit from Santa this year. I have already lost 10 pounds this month on my journey to lose weight. I have about 35 more pounds to go! I would love to have some active friends that would like to keep each other accountable. Just add me as a friend and let's get working on our goals to a healthy body!

@SunsetRunner20 Ya people tell me that I don't need to lose weight and I am sure I would be fine staying where I am at now but I am not happy where I am at and always think there is room to improve!

I am with you all. I got mine for Christmas. I wore it to learn about it but decided to put it away until Jan 2nd, well today is my day! I have been good all day and planned what I would eat so that helped. I have had enough candy, sweets and other bad stuff to last a lifetime. I need to lose 26 lbs.
I am hoping for 10 this month. Its very cold where i live so outside activity isnt going to be easy but with this thing on my wrist and seeing others in the same situation is a huge help.
I wish you all success. I dont know how to do the adding of a friend but i will figure it out.
How many steps should I be doing in a day? Today I thought I would see how many I did on a typical day and then try to double it etc..
Thanks for being out there!

I didn't get my Fitbit for christmas as it was the "HOT" seller around this year, so i picked it up today. i'm excited about having friends to keep me in check and can't wait to start. I need to lose 40 pounds and i know i can do it with support... I have a bad habit of starting something, head first, gun ho and then quiting.

I am the same way. I would go all in and then end up hating it and just give up. Now I have learned that slow and steady wins the race. Ya I'm not losing weight as fast but I am able to keep going. When giving up pop and candy slowly it isn't that bad. Soon you don't even crave it!

I also recieved a fit bit from Santa and I have really enjoyed using it while I have been off work for the holiday's being able to stay active. I am concerned about heading back to work tommorrow where I spend most of my day at a desk...I have made a plan to work out before going to work and a have a small portion of time set aside after dinner to go for a walk...so I am hoping to stay motivated as I have 50lbs to lose...

Hey everyone,
how is everyone doing? it's the real start tomorrow for me. Routine starting, have been on a couple of short hikes this week, hard work and one with a pub lunch at the end tomorrow I start in earnest, food logging, water drinking and 30 active minutes a day. Hope you are all doing well, all on a high at the moment, but will be looking for support/motivation nearer the weekend I guess. I like the challenges some people are setting.

HI Kaffie,
I have also been enjoying my time off from work and doing everything i can to stay active. I have a desk job too and so i'm planning to work out after work. I like to work out at the end of the day where i can let the day's stresses float away. I tried working out before work, but then i find it hard to sit still all day. Good luck... i know you can do it.

First proper day, logged 500 cals less than I used up, so that is good. How's everyone else doing?

Hello fellow Fitbitters,
Something I think we need to talk about is motivation. Motivation comes to you all at once. At the same time though you can lose it just as fast as you got it. Yes motivation is important but it won't last all the time. What we should be thinking is DISCIPLINE. No it's not as easy to get like motivation but once you have it you are far off compared to just motivation. To have discipline you need to train for it. It's better to create discipline than rely on motivation. Something I have learned from Kayla Itsine is this.
Program your body.
Train yourself to do things automatically:white_heavy_check_mark:
Train yourself to get out of bed everyday at the same time.
Train your body to make sure you eat breakfast.
Train your body to want to workout.
So the question is not how to keep yourself motivated, it is how to train your body to work without motivation.

Hi everyone...
It's been cold here in Wisconsin... -5 is our high with windchill -30 with wind as 40 mph... since i go home right after work to keep the home fire burning, i'm missing the gym but have found some really created ways to get a work out done at home. I walk around our house, inside, and walk up and down our stairs to the basement for 20-30 minutes at a time. My husband thinks it's great and is my personal cheer leader as i pass him by. I figure that i was off to a good start but Mother Nature threw in a curve ball.
Now that's it's snow, i can't wait to get home and shovel as it is a work out all on it's own.
So, if the weather is keeping you inside, look around, get creative and see what you can come up with.

Hi Kaffie!
I just read your post from Jan 4 and it really struck a chord with me as I am also need to lose 50 lbs and have never succeeded at it before. I am hoping that with the FitBit this will help me stay on track with my logging of food, and exercise and water intake. I have recognized a few trouble areas and I hope the plan I made will help me avoid them. How have you done so far? I haven't been on the FitBit website for a few weeks and reading these posts has really remotivated me so that is one of my challenges is to check in every nite with this community to help stay motivated. Anyway good luck and I look forward to hearing about your success!!! YOU GOT THIS!!!
