It's been two weeks since I last posted.  I haven't lost as much as I was hoping for, but over the holiday season I'll take any weight loss!  So many challenges this month.

Today at work is a meat and cheese social.  I see all kinds of crackers, sliced meats and cheeses, pickles, olives, spinach dip and artisan bread.  So I brought low fat cheese, sliced apples and smoked sausage to share. I'll try not to eat much meat or cheese, but wow does it all look great!  A crockpot?  Someone brought a crockpot!  No wonder it smells so good.  I am strong!

So @KatBaby  - I'm dying to know what was in the crockpot? LOL!

Definitely not making my goal but with hubby's surgery everything was topsy turvey and I did not police myself well. Bad choices all around - at the hospital, at Christmas with his family, at Christmas with my family, at Christmas at home with our kids - and now I have a doozy of a head cold.

I will start up the next challenge but most likely not until the 1st as we have a follow-up with the surgeon tomorrow. As usual, I'll post the title here so you all can find it. Following past challenges it will run to Valentine's Day - 2/14 - let me know if you have any different ideas.

Turns out it was spinach dip.  I have it on the very highest authority that it was wonderful dip!!  And the crackers were good too. 🐵  I was able to mostly stay on my plan for eating healthy during the social.

I had some trouble with eating healthy over Christmas though.  Some crazy fool made fudge and I had to try it.  Didn't turn out as well as I had hoped.

But the new year will bring renewed resolve!  Right?

All right, everyone! I would not say that I have had the success that I *wanted* but that does not mean I haven't had success... I am trying to keep a nice attitude looking at the overall trajectory and not fall into old patterns of giving myself a hard time for not hitting the brass ring, as it were. I think we all have to consider the time of year - the holidays, the food, the families, the friends, the rain, the darkness, the snow - and how it impacts both our diet and our exercise goals, and then be gentle with ourselves. Or that's what I am telling myself 😄

As you see, my goal weight for this challenge was 230 which I truly felt was achievable as it was 13 pounds in two months. AND what I achieved was 235.8. To be honest I feel a lot of self-inflicted pressure to get to 230 because I *really* want that 100 pound weight loss! And since November my weight loss has slowed to a C...R...A....W....L and so that's been a little...frustrating. BUT I am still moving in the right direction and I want to be stoked about that. Plus I totally went for a 26 mile (42 km) bike ride on Saturday. *I* went for that bike ride! I could DO THAT! How awesome is that?!

I hope that all of you are feeling successful and proud of yourselves for your focus and your love of self as this year closes out. You are here because you care about yourself and you want to keep doing a better job at loving yourself --- that's some awesome **ahem** right there, so keep that up! Best wishes for a great 2020 and I will see you in the next challenge!
