Hi All,
I'm a 25 year old female and have worked in an office since I was 17...guess what...I got fat!!! Sitting on my backside for 8 hours a day and being too tired to do anything when I get home, oh, and of course when its someones birthday in the office and they bring cake...it would be rude not to right?!?!?!
I'm now trying to turn my life around and lose weight and get fit and healthy, looking for friends who have the same problems and aims as me...
I also use my fitness pal to keep track of what im putting into my body, my username is LilMissLisaC
Thanks xx

Doing well, but starting to understand the importance of solid footwear lol. Got half way through a 8km loop and the lining in my shoe broke and the inner moulding cut through the sock and into my foot. I had no alternative but to continue back to the car to get home. Accordingly, my foot is suffering from a cut about 2 inches long and deep enough to have needed medical attention.
This has made walking a little more painful for the past two days, but even 10,000 steps at a slower pace is still 10,000 more than I was doing a couple of weeks ago.

Welcome 🙂 Hope you find that love of the gym, I too would binge watch TV when I'd come home every night after work. Kind of my way to unwind from the day. I started going to a local gym with my friend on her guest pass and I've fallen in love with going now. Good luck!

@Dunkr OUCH! That sounds very painful. Hope your foot recovers very soon!

Hey hey everyone! I lost 2 pounds last week and tomorrow is my new weigh in, I'm scared!
Besides that, I found out I need to change my diet drastically to help me with my Endo; it's all for the best!
How is everyone doing on this beautiful wednesday?

You are going to do great Helena! Hopefully you have a smooth transition to the new diet. How are they changing it? If you don't mind me asking 🙂
My weekly weigh in is tomorrow too and i'm nervous. I did great last week but hoping this week will be the same. My goal weight by my anniversary (Sept 7th) is 200, i'm at 215 now 😕

@HelenaFitbit. congrats on the 2 lbs last week. I weight in tomorrow and I am also nervous. I had a pretty good week and I am very sore today, but the scale can be fickel at times

My boyfriend's relatives went back home, so my stress levels are a lot lower - even with this being a busy week at work. So now the weight that drifted up a pound or so is magically coming back off. That's how much impact stress can have.
I'm exactly one month away from my first 5K and right on track. I had a feeling I wouldn't be able to complete yesterday's workout and would have to repeat it. But I did it! So that's looking good.

@Raviv do you have a goal for your 5K time. I have my 1st one in 9 weeks.

Please let me know how you prepped and how your first 5k goes 🙂 I am wanting to do one but I have no idea where to begin or how to pace myself. I've researched online but most advice is from experienced runners and other than running bases during Softball games in high school, I did not run lol

@awood08 So far my Endometriosis diet bans wheat and gluten in general, soy, dairy, refined sugars, red meat, eggs, alcohol, fried food, carbonated drinks and caffeine.
So my morning latte with pain au chocolat won't be possible anymore.

@awood08 I am working up very slowly. Still being very heavy and having bad joints due to my gout, it is a long road. My goal is to 1/2 walk, 1/2 jog and finish somewhere around 40-45 minutes. I have been working up my speed daily to increase my walking time. I walk before work, during lunch and breaks and have got myself down from 21 min/mile to 17 min/mile

@HelenaFitbit That sounds brutal. My neice has celiac, so i have become aware of what has gluten in it, which seems to be most everything. And the gluten free items can be rather expensive.

I am in the same boat! I worked a very physically demanding job at the hospital that I am employed with for about 2 years, and then I transfered up to an office position. Now there are potlucks, birthday celebrations, ordering Chinese on Fridays, etc. and in the last year I have gained about 18lbs 😕 I just bought the FitBit Charge HR and love it, but I am having a hard time finding the free time to work out. Getting up and leaving the office to walk/take stairs is easier said than done too.
I work 40+ hours a week, and am now going back to school. My schedule is 6am to 7pm every day during the week and that's just work hours and school, not including homework and studying. It's killing me, but because I sit at a desk it is hard for me to lose any weight. I want to become healthy again, and feel & look good for both myself and my bf.
I am 22, 5'9" and weigh about 182lbs currently. I'd like to get back down to 160, and then go from there. Any tips/advice? (p.s. I skip the cake and Chinese more often than not, but I am living paycheck to paycheck so eating healthier is really hard right now too). Thanks y'all! ❤️

@pcobb8 I know! At least I have accessible fresh fruits and veggies; I'll just need to work around the restrictions. I've seen around some companies who can cook my 3+ meals in accordance to any dietary and caloric requirements I have, including snacks! Hopefully they'll get along with my budget

😞 I'm sorry that you have such restrictions, I love my red meat...I hope even though this diet sounds tough, it gives you the relief you need from the Endo. It runs in my family and I see the pain it causes. Crossing my fingers for you!
Hopefully your joints cooperate with you! Sounds like you have a good layout set up for how to tackle the 5K. I think you will do amazing, regardless of your finish time. When (not if) you finish, it's going to be such an accomplishment. Congrats on the progress!

I have bought this juicing cookbook that is helping me with the eating. I love to snack. So instead of snacking I drink the juices that I made. And thank goodness its helping me cut down on my bad habits

Right now my goal for the September race is just to run the entire thing without walking. I just started running a month and a half ago, so running 3.1 miles without having to stop and walk is going to be a big deal for me.
I have another 5K scheduled for November (maybe one in October too, just because it's a good charity), and a 10K in December. I'll be basing my goal time for those on how well I do in September. I have to admit that it would be nice to run under 30 minutes in that first race, but I'll still be happy if I don't. That may be the goal for the second race.
When I first started running, I was having trouble because I spent 6 years walking for my job. I could walk 20+ miles but I couldn't run for more than a minute. That meant the C25K (Couch To 5K) programs weren't all that helpful because they didn't address my particular freakish situation, which was that I had lots of endurance for walking and pretty much zero for running.
I took the advice of some seasoned runners and slowed WAY down when I ran, which meant I could run longer. Then I was able to step into a C25K program at about week 4 and progress from there.
I'm using the app from Zen Labs, which is really good. I wouldn't bother with their C25K app, and I would just get the 10K one they have. The programs are the same, even down to saying when you can run a 5K, but the 10K app also has an additional 6 weeks or so that take you to a 10K.
