Recording weight

I would like to know why, when I record my weight, the amount immediately decreases by a tenth or two? For instance I recorded 174.8 and it immediately changed to 174.7. Several times it changed by two tenths and once by three.

@beckyneilsenMany of us have reported this issue and Fitbit have a tendency to apply some odd rounding issues in their mathematics even though yours is a whole number. My goal weight is 81kg but is displayed as 80.9kg, a similar proportion to your issue. My actual weight shows as correct, but 3 months ago I had the decimal variation.

Do you enter it via the website or the app, or synced from say MFP?

I have encountered this both when entering through the app on my Android
and on the Web.

I always record my weight on the website. The funny thing is I can weigh 156 pounds or 158 pounds but if I enter 157 it changes to 156.9. Apparently I am not alowed to weigh 157 pounds. I havent made it down to 155 to find out if it is an even-odd problem. Interesting don't you think. I hope there is a solution at some point.

Try entering 156.95 lbs and that may work. I have established there is a rounding issue in the Kg weights and playing around with the decimal points rounded the number up or down. You could also try 157.1 or. 2 and it my round down.

I apologise if the imperial system uses ounces or no decimals.

Conversion. Most formulas use kg and cm, so conversion is done to that for storage.

Then your selection of units merely determines the conversion to display what has been logged.

157 lb = 71.2 kg

71.2 kg = 156.9 lbs

They aren't logging enough significant digits for good conversion, or need to reexamine their rounding routines.

You can catch that on many numbers.

You can log your 157 weight as 157.01 and it will round to 157.
