Should you eat back your calories burned from exercise?

I've heard you should NOT eat back the calories burnt from exercise, but if I don't up my food intake my fitbit will shout at me for being under target! I'm currently cutting so aim to have a -500 calorie deficit a day, some days I am more active than others, so should I adjust my calorie goal depending on how active I'm being that day? Or should it remain consistent (normally about 1800) every day?

Just my opinion but i'd consider the extra calorie burn as a nice bonus and not eat any more unless you feel weak or something.

500 isn't a big deficit.

@CountryGymBunny -- I guess I'm with @Bill_k on this.  I find it a lot easier from a developing good habits perspective to eat about the same amount each day and let any added exercise operate as a bonus to the weight loss formula.  If 1800 calorie = a 500 cal/day deficit on your "less active" days, I would strive for that amount as an average over the week.
