I am new to Fitbit this last week. I was 301 lbs in Aug and decided I needed to do something. By the time I went into ICU with unstable angina in Oct I had actually dropped a bit by eating less. I wasn't doing much exercise yet. I was in ICU for a week and then had surgery to stent my coronary artery fixing a 90% blockage. I came out of hospital at 285.5 and just before Christmas was 265.5. This morning 268 but admit getting off track over the holidays.

I need to lose at least another 68 lbs. I don't count calories or do an organized diet program (drs orders). My cardiologist said eat 10% less and move 10% more increasing as I gained strength. The kinesiologist in cardiac rehab at the hospital gave me the heart and stroke foundation information. It includes the recommendation for 150 min of moderate hard to hard exercise per week, done in daily periods of 30 min 5 x per week, never missing two days in a row. He also recommended breaking the 30 min into 15 min period while I gain strength and stamina. The recommended exercise - walking. The hospital dietician suggested two meatless days per week and cut back on the red meats.

I would love to join anyone here in support and encouragement as we all seem to struggle with similar weight issues and have the same goals in mind.

Hi I'm another newbie. My charge is updating as I type, it arrived today as an early birthday present for next week!  I have 45kg to go which is apparenly 99lb. I am looking forward to using it, I have been tracking steps with Noom for a while and seem to average around 3000 steps so my first target is to hit 5000 every day and then increase from there. I have four young children and im in the final stages of getting a degree so sometimes its easy not to bother, hopefully the Fitbit will be a physical reminder to get out and exercise.

Hi, I'm new to fitbit and also to social media!  I have 70lbs to shed and would like to be there with people while doing it.  I'm loving my fit bit and finding myself more active already and more accurate with calories.  I'd love to know my dog's step counts now with extra walkies!

Hi, it is so good that you are coming out of this period, plus a good weight loss if u don't mind me saying so.  The hospital information that you shared was really interesting especially re; walking for exercise and not missing 2 days in a row, plus the dietician advice.  How are you finding it?

Received the charge HR today, tomorrow starts another journey. I have done 6 week body makeover 2x before and lost almost 60 lbs each time, however something major occurs in my life and I gain it all back. I was in the best shape of my life in 2012 at 120 lbs and 46 years old. Ive got to get back there....57-60 lbs to lose again. I'm really worried about food issues as it is obviously my crutch in hard times. This next few weeks will be a challenge as well since we are going on a cruise and vacation, but I will wear this daily to help me be mindful of what I am doing and to keep moving. I love walking and even on a treadmill. I just have to get back to it!

It was more like 30 lbs in 6 weeks, the rest I lost over the next 3 months. VERY STRICT diet, but also low HR exercise and muscle building. Look up 6 week body makeover it is very fast loss but I could never maintain
