You can so do this! And the Charge will really help. I've got a Fitbit Flex and a Garmin Vivosmart and they've been instrumental in my journey. Feel free to add me here and/or on MyFitnessPal if you're using it (also VERY helpful!).

So to achienve my goal of getting down to my ideal weight, I need to lose 72 lbs. I hope to check in weekly to keep you informed of my progess.
Wish me luck.

Think in terms of smaller goal and it will not seem that great. Start with loosing 7% of your weight and when you reach that goal do another 7%. Time goes by fast. I have been very successful so far limiting fats to 40 grams a day. Keep your goals reachable. It took me 16 weeks to loose 14 lbs.

My problem spot like most women is my stomach. Worked really hard to get to where I am today, but can't seem to get my abs in shape after 2 children, so I started running on the treadmill @ the gym before my classes. I'm beginning to see a difference. Running they say takes care of everything! So that's a good place to start. I walk 0.25, then 0.75, then walk, then run at a higher speed. Building up! Start out slow and steady, then build up. Walking is great, running creates cardio which will burn calories and fat.
Good luck and keep up the good work!

No running for me too many pains, pinched nerves. Good for you that you can do it while you are young. I am the turtle on the side of the road. Slow and steady for me.

All I can say is Wow! congratulations on all your successes!. I already follow alot of what you have adopted. I don't drink, stay away from bread, pasta, rice, butter, jelly, and a few others. I like a donut or cookie from time to time, and popcorn (94% fat free) is my biggest downfall. I'm a gym rat, so movement has never been my problem. To get to 135, I had approximately 30 pounds to lose and I thought that was plenty. I think that it's all pretty simple. There really are some very basic guidelines and you have mentioned so many in your narrative. I will follow a few more of your suggestions to keep my 40pds off in maintenance. Still trying to lose 5 more.
Thanks again for your great advice and see you around the forum.

I have just started doing low carb again.. I find that I like it much better than all the low fat, fat free type of diet. The problem is, my personal trainer at the gym is not on board. It is so hard to get so many opinions about how to lose weight. I have been overweight my whole life, and have tried so many different diets. I won the personal trainer for 3 months and a year gym membership. I love working out now. I just got the fitbit Charge hr. I would love to stay in touch. and hear more from you about the low carb.

Try not to think "diet". Think "life change", "way of life" Eating healthy and staying fit will surely do the trick. Basic formula and everything in moderation. I knew last night I shouldn't eat that Entemanns Apple Pie @ 380 calories vs a Weight Watchers small bag of Ginger Snaps. 🙂 Healthy and smart choices.
I know, I know, I read alot on our forum of people doing "low carb" meals. Amazing! I don't know how they do it because EVERYTHING we eat has carbs in it. Even a simple thing as a banana.
But find what's comfortable for you and works. Once you see stagnation, change up,m but keep the basics. Change is good and slow and steady ALWAYS wins the race!
Good Luck!!
