Hi Blackbandit, I've just read your post and feel immensively motivated. I'm just getting back to fitness after an intense year of parttime study + full time working and now have 7 months off til next course starts. Gym, gardening, walking, swimming all on the list + better eating. Your post is very encouraging.

Terrific post... lots of detail. For me I start, do well, but fail after a few days or maybe two weeks when I see no change. I am a wine lover and can not seem to get rid of it, but I know alot of that is stress related, coming home from work and having that first glass signals I am done for the day. Stress does add weight as well, great excuse to eat a vat of mashed potatoes. so I am now officially "starting over" or "starting new" whatever saying I use. Need alot of changes to shed this weight. Always was thin until I got to the 50's, now it seems every year I add another 2 or 3 pounds, and it is just daunting some days. I have had the fitbit for awhile but never wore it consistently. Am now doing so and trying to add some "friends" to motivate me. I love the buzz when I hit 10,000 steps
your post was very motivating for me!

Re-boot today for me...
Scale and I keep heading in the wrong direction...
Need to be honest with myself, not give into the daily temptations, and buckle down here....
I need to lose ~40 pounds. Don't want to beat myself up about this. Hard on the self esteem when I head the wrong direction on this weight loss/health journey.
Any help for those will power challenging moments much apprecited.

I have been successful with Myfitnesspal.com. it also connects to fitbit which is very handy.
Dr.Oz says if you drink coffee(cafine) in the morning you get a low in the afternoon.
I have the decaf with far less cafine and does not interupt my sleep.

Don't think of loosing 80 lbs. take 7 percent of your weight and loose that number. Make small goals. If you weigh 180 x 7% =12lbs when you reach that make another goal. Works for me.
