Tweaks needed in fitbit

I have been using FITBIT for almost a year. I have lost 15 lbs. I use the steps tracker and the database for tracking calorie intake.  I have some suggestions. The foods database stars frequently eaten foods. However when I go in each morning it would be nice if I could have an option for populating my database with the past days starred foods. That would be time saving in me not having to re-enter foods and amts. I eat on a daily basis. Also, I use deficits to track my calorie balance. I compute this on a daily basis. I don't get the fit bit calculations. I also divide my calorie in vs. out total by 3500 to give me the proportion of weight loss (I know the individual differences with regard to this but at least it is a good estimate). I also compute this monthly accumulative. This could also have an accumulative count weekly as well. I grahp this data to see trends which would be a good idea. The active minutes are not connected to anything so I don't think they help. If they are associated with increased calorie expenditure that number should be available to factor in to daily totals. The above works for me. I love fitbit. It has great potential. The overall calories of foods and ways to integrate this with calories need per pound of weight loss needs some work. Hope this helps.

They aren't going to do anything to improve the food database.

That's why they partnered with MyFitnessPal which has a much better one, so the syncing can be food over there, exercise here.

Why re-invent the wheel for the expense for free service, when you can have the annoyance of dealing with 2 apps and sites.

I have recently been using Lose It with my FitBit and so far I'm really happy with the Lose It app. It syncs with FitBit and the food database is very robust. I had tried the FitBit food journal option but gave up after a week as it was too much effort. You might want to take a look at Lose It.

Hi, My husband and I have created a meal out of our favorite breakfasts and dinners and then you just have to enter the meal every day.  You can then alter the individual ingredients if you need to, but it is much faster than entering food by food.
