Excellent!
Any day to weigh in is fine. Let's just post here and share in our successes and cheer on our "better next times".
I weighed in last night and was a bit disappointed.
A bit of history. I started on 8/29/14 at 261.5
I weighed in last night at 174.6 lbs. Only -1/2 lb. from the previous week.
However, I recently started with a trainer 2x per week. So I'm hoping I'm just building muscle.
How about you?
Cheers!
Jill
Holy Crap! That weight loss is fantastic! Way to go, Jill!
My history is very similar to yours, weighed 256 Jan 1/13. Took me a lot longer to lose weight. Made it down to 160 lbs beginning of last November.
I know I've gained weight - jumped on the scales for the first time since last November and weighed in at 186.6 lbs. on Feb 9/15. Walking 6 miles a day, weighed in this morning, Feb 18 at 179.4. This is interesting....I'm five pounds more than you right now. I will work very hard to try and catch you.....lol!
Congrats on the amount of weight you have lost, please don't be discouraged with only half a pound this past week. Working out with a trainer - impressive. Muscle weighs more than fat.
Short term goal for me is 175 lbs. by Feb 28.
Best of luck to us next week!
Dianne
Best AnswerWow, you ladies have inspired me! I'm in for the weekly weigh-ins. I am relitively new to Fitbit. I got mine in November, but slacked off over the holidays, and the past couple weeks have really been trying hard. I have a desk job and so it's very hard for me to get my steps in, but I did super good this past week, and started going to the gym. I started at 202 in November. Today I weighed 192. I lost 1.5 pounds this past week. Not huge, but I keep saying baby steps. My goal is to drop 40 pounds by the end of August. Probably another 10-20 after that, but if I can do 40 I will be feeling (and looking) pretty good!
Leslie, the office job is definitely a challenge to work around. Today I went for a 30 minute walk at lunch and tried to make a point to get up at least every hour to walk up and down our stair well. I'm still not at 10000 steps and I don't have a ton of time left for walking tonight. I'm really trying hard though. Had I gone to Bootcamp, I might have made it. 🙂
Best AnswerWelcome Leslie and mommyknits! Kudos to you both and a big fat "E" for effort. The fact that you both find ways to work in steps while doing an office/desk job is absolutely amazing to me. I love your determination. It'll be great to watch each others achievements every Tuesday. I, for one, look forward to it!
Best AnswerHi Dianne!
Thanks 🙂
I wouldn't recommend this as an easy way to go.
But I'm glad I'm ending the first leg of my journey.
I'm weighing in tomorrow night and am REALLY hoping to get down to "only 15 lbs left to go".
Cheers!
Jill
Best AnswerHi, I would love to join the weekly weigh in. I did one before with friends and it is a great motivator. I am at 181. I also have a desk job and busy evenings driving my kids to various clubs and activities. It can be hard to get steps in and also to find time for a sit down meal in the evenings. I am aiming for 175 by start of April. Not too ambitious a goal!
Trying to schedule dinner for the whole family and driving the kids around etc. is a second full time job. :-))
Hi Kyla,
No problem! Post your changes (in this day and age I can't imaging we couldn't do the conversion).
I'll start with mine:
I started with 261.5 lbs/118.61kg
I'm now currently 174.6lbs/79.197kg
It's interesting...I may start using metric 😉

Dainne, I love the "short term" weight goal!!! I am so fixated on the "end goal" that I frequently get frustrated and disappointed in my progress. I'm totally going to start looking at things differently!
Best AnswerHello Everyone,
This page has really inspired me and gave me the motivation I need. I would love to do the weekly weigh-in too if youll have me.
A quick bit about me; I feel I dont have too much to lose, but would really like to be part of this amazing support group. I am a student nurse and struggle to find time to fit in excersice, but im determined to make a change!!
I weigh 132lbs and am hoping to get down to 112lbs
Thank you
Best AnswerMe too I want to join!!
I just got a Fitbit Surge last weekend and I am already addicted... I am at 145lbs. My goal is 130lbs by summer. I'm aiming for a calorie deficit of 500/day, so that I should lose ~1lb/week. I'm a bit concerned with the calorie burn count. It seems a bit higher than I expected and I'm a little concerned with the accuracy( everyone is different, afterall...(?) I'm wondering what others' experiences have been so far?
Best AnswerI want to join too! I've had my fitbit for a few months but haven't been very consistent with exercise or weight loss. I weighed 205 this morning. I have a desk job too and kids and grandkids to chase after so it's hard to find time for myself. I'm hoping if I feel more accountable, I will be better at finding time to reach my goals!
Best AnswerHi everybody. Welcome to weigh-in buddies. It's Tuesday and I lost 1.4 lbs. since last Tuesday. 179.4 last week and 178.0 this morning.
Trying to live by the words I gave to Jill last week. Though it's hard not to be discouraged. I step well over 10,000 steps a day (walk 6 miles everyday-no matter what the weather is). Hoping it's muscle gain (muscle weighs more than fat).
Am I going to hit 175 lbs by the 28th? I doubt it. Maybe by next Tuesday.......but if I only lose 1 to 2 lbs a week, I'll be happy with that.
Hope everyone else had a better week!
Best AnswerI would love to join.
I don't know my weight as I own a Quantam scale that just tells me losses.
3.5 lbs in 3 weeks since I got the fit bit. Slow for sure but hoping for more activity now that I have my car back(to drive to the gym)
I weigh in on Mondays
Carlie
